On the evening of September 16, the Chinese women's volleyball team will appear in the first round of the qualification round of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, attacking their 12th Olympic ticket. In the 11 Olympic Games held between 1980 and 2021, the Chinese women's volleyball team won a place in each Olympic Games, and this is the fourth time in history that it has participated in the qualification competition.
In October 1979, the Chinese Olympic Committee rejoined the Olympic family, and the Chinese women's volleyball team was able to compete in the second Asian Women's Volleyball Championship held at the end of that year, competing with Asian powers for the ticket to the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. At that Asian Championships, the Chinese women's volleyball team, which was already at the top level in the world, won the championship and entered the Moscow Olympics. In the 1999 World Cup, the Chinese women's volleyball team only finished 5th and failed to enjoy the right of the top three to go directly to the Olympic Games. In June 2000, the Chinese team competed with all continental powers for an Olympic ticket, and the Chinese women's volleyball team did not stand out in that competition, only finishing 4th, fortunately the best record among Asian participating teams, won the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
In the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the Chinese women's volleyball team directly won the participation as the 2003 World Cup champion and the host of the Olympic Games. In the 2011 World Cup, the Chinese women's volleyball team, which was at a low point at that time, won the third place in the World Cup and went straight to the Olympic Games without risk.
