On the evening of September 16, the Chinese women's volleyball team will appear in the first round of the qualification round of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, attacking their 12th Olympic ticket. In the 11 Olympic Games held between 1980 and 2021, the Chinese women's volleyball team won a place in each Olympic Games, and this is the fourth time in history that it has participated in the qualification competition.

In October 1979, the Chinese Olympic Committee rejoined the Olympic family, and the Chinese women's volleyball team was able to compete in the second Asian Women's Volleyball Championship held at the end of that year, competing with Asian powers for the ticket to the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.
