In terms of engines, the Desert X is powered by a 937cc Testastretta 11° L-shaped V2 engine, which is also equipped with Ducati's Desmodromic valve system, which has a maximum horsepower of 110 hp and bursts at 9250 rpm and a maximum torque of 92 Nm at 6500 rpm.
The engine is the same as the new Monster and Multistrada V2 engines, but also adaptably tuned, desert X's gearbox transmission is more retrained than retrained, with 1 gear 2 shorter for off-road sections, gear 3 to 5 to better use of engine torque, and 6 gears to keep riding more comfortably on the road.
The front and rear suspensions are KYB fully adjustable shock absorption, the front shock absorption is 46mm inverted fork, the stroke is 230mm, and the rear suspension is a single gun suspension with a stroke of 220mm.
Both front and rear brakes are Brembo M50 calipers, and the front brakes are four-piston radiant calipers with 320mm dual discs. Desert X's fuel tank is 21 liters, and an 8-liter auxiliary fuel tank can be installed under its rear seat to extend the range, and when the oil level in the main tank is lower than a certain level, the auxiliary fuel tank will automatically deliver fuel to the main fuel tank, which can also be activated through the meter.
The electronic control system is equipped with six riding modes (Sport, Travel, City, Rain, Enduro, Rally), six riding modes can work in tandem with four engine power modes, the Sport mode engine horsepower is set at 110 full-power sports, the travel mode is 95 horses, the rainy and city modes are 75 horses, and the newly added Enduro mode engine horsepower is reduced to 75 horses, The Rally mode engine can run at full power 110 hp and the electronic control system involvement is minimized or even partially shut down.
It is also equipped with a Bosch 6-axis IMU inertial unit, including engine brake control, traction control, lone wheel control, two-way electronic fast row and three-stage cornering ABS, the third stage is suitable for road driving, the second stage rear wheel ABS is only partially involved, and the three-stage rear wheel ABS is completely closed.
The instrument adopts a vertical screen 5-inch full-color TFT LCD instrument, and has a display replacement in Raly mode, which can be displayed like a scrolling road book.
In the 1990s, when Dakar was the domain of Honda, BMW and Yamaha, the Ducati Dakar Rally racing car was affixed with the name of another manufacturer, cagiva kajiva, which was called cagiva Elefant 900.
