Mercedes-Benz overseas recalled some EQS and S-class units totaling 227 vehicles / due to MBUX system failure

A few days ago, we learned from relevant channels that Mercedes-Benz will recall some EQS and S-class overseas, a total of 227 vehicles. The reason for this recall is that vehicles can allow the use of multiple features and applications while driving.

According to NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) documents, Mercedes-Benz launched an investigation into the issue in November 2021. It was then discovered that some MBUX features and applications were not deactivated as expected while driving. The investigation concluded that there was an incorrect configuration on Mercedes's servers, which may have been installed on a vehicle that was activated and connected to the Mercedes me account.

Needless to say, there is a potential safety risk if drivers choose to use these apps while driving, and this possibility is further amplified on EQS and its huge MBUX hyper screen that spans the dashboard.
