Gu Weijun lived to 98 and his wife lived to 112, the secret of longevity: walking, eating less snacks, and taking care of his wife

Speaking of "longevity", everyone will talk about their own views, eat more vegetables and fruits, drink less alcohol, eat less meat, properly quit smoking and color, and assist the right amount of exercise, it is possible to live a long life.

This is from a microscopic point of view. If from a macro point of view, I think it is necessary to have several conditions, one is a good economic foundation, the second is a comfortable ecological environment, the third is the necessary humanistic care, the fourth is suitable living habits, and the fifth is appropriate exercise.

In ancient times, Qin Shi Huang and Han WuDi emperor also once asked for immortals to kneel to the Buddha, taking a panacea, Qin Shi Huang only lived to 49 years old, put it in the present is a good time to do a career, Han Wudi is better, lived to 69 years old, put in that era at that time, is already an advanced age.

The world-renowned diplomat, Gu Weijun, a famous beautiful man during the Republic of China, lived to the age of 98, and his wife lived out of the realm of life and lived to the age of 112. Someone asked Gu Weijun what was the secret of high life, and he said: walking, eating less snacks, mrs. take care of it.

Gu Weijun lived to 98 and his wife lived to 112, the secret of longevity: walking, eating less snacks, and taking care of his wife

The most beautiful is the sunset red ———— accompanying you to old age

Gu Weijun's wife has some tricks, not only can she take care of her husband so thoughtfully, but also take good care of herself, which is indeed worth our good discussion. Gu Weijun's wife, Yan Youyun, was his fourth wife, born in Tianjin, and his ancestral home is Ningbo, Zhejiang.

Yan Youyun entered Lujiang University in 1925 and transferred to Fudan University in 1927 to study business, becoming one of the first female students at Fudan University. At Fudan University, she is known both on campus and beyond under the nickname "Flower of Love".

In the 20s of the last century, college students can be described as very few, the country is only more than 30,000 people, and female college students are even rarer, but Yan Youyun not only went to college herself, but also the three sisters went to college.

Her two sisters, Yan Caiyun (1902-1993) and Yan Lianyun (1903-2004), graduated from Jinling Women's University in 1921 and 1924, respectively, and both were of high life. Yan Caiyun lived to be 91 years old, Yan Lianyun lived to be 101 years old, and she lived to be 112 years old.

At Fudan University, Yan Youyun often drove to school by herself, her license plate number was No. 84, and it was also her own car, which could be said to be extremely rare at the time.

Yan Youyun herself looks very beautiful, coupled with her father especially loves her, her father's old nine chapters of silk cloth village for her to choose at will, so she often wears the most fashionable clothes in and out of the university, often causing others to look sideways, it can be said that the school flower of the entire campus, everyone revolves around her.

At a dance party at Fudan University, Yan Youyun had the privilege of meeting Yang Guangjing, a disciple of a great silk merchant in Huzhou. Yang Guangxin, a native of Wuxing, Zhejiang Province, studied at Shanghai Jingye Middle School in his early years, graduated from Tsinghua University, and later went to the United States to study, and received a doctorate in international law from Princeton University.

In 1926, Yang Guangxing returned from studying in the United States and taught at Tsinghua University. Later, he entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Beiping Government as a special commissioner in Shanghai. After returning to China, he participated in the Chinese delegation as an expert and attended the International Opium Conference held in Geneva in 1925, and became famous.

Yang Guangxuan's temperament is elegant, talented, personable, and as soon as he goes to the dance hall, he attracts Yan Youyun's attention. In Fudan University, there is no shortage of followers, but Yan Youyun did not look at it, and he was attracted by Yang Guangxuan, who was a list of talents.

On September 6, 1929, Yan Youyun and Yang Guangxin held a grand wedding at the Shanghai Dahua Hotel. The wedding was very luxurious, presided over by Foreign Minister Wang Zhengting, and celebrities gathered here.

One is a young and promising diplomat, the other is a famous bridesmaid, Fudan school flower, Lang Cai female appearance, Qin Ser and Ming, which sensationalized the whole Shanghai Beach.

In 1930, Yang Guangxing was appointed Consul General of China in London and Commissioner for Europe as a diplomat. In 1938, Yang Guangxing became the Consul General of China in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the Pacific War broke out, and Manila was in danger.

When General MacArthur, the commander of the U.S. Far East Army, withdrew, he reserved a seat for Yang Guangxi on the last plane, but he categorically refused. In order to cover up the property of local overseas Chinese and consulates, he said: "As a diplomat, you should bear the heavy responsibility of protecting overseas Chinese, and you will never leave your post without permission until you have been ordered."

On January 2, 1942, the Japanese army occupied Manila and Yang Guangxing was imprisoned. Vice Consul of Japan in Manila Jitaro Kihara stated that Japan would not recognize the Chongqing government or the status of Yang Guangxing and other diplomats.

He asked Yang Guangfeng to gather the leaders of overseas Chinese in the Philippines and live. Yang Guangxi insisted that justice was rejected on the spot. As a result, Yang Guangxing and eight other diplomats were imprisoned by the Japanese army. On April 17, Yang Guangxing and others were secretly killed by the Japanese army at the age of 42.

In 1945, Yang Guangxing and nine other diplomats were buried in Nanjing Yuhuatai. On December 2, 1989, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the State Council issued the Yang Guangxi Revolutionary Martyr Certificate, and restored the martyrs' tomb and martyrs' memorial hall in Nanjing Juhuatai Park.

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yan Youyun participated in the Philippine Branch of the Chinese Women's Consolation and Self-Defense Anti-Japanese War Soldiers Association and served as the honorary chairman.

Under her leadership, all the overseas Chinese women in the Philippines participated in the Anti-Japanese Salvation Movement, adopted various methods to comfort the soldiers in the front, and raised tens of thousands of pesos a month, all of which were remitted to the motherland to support the War of Resistance.

When her husband was sacrificed, Yan Youyun was already the mother of 3 daughters, and in the face of the sharp turn of fate, this famous lady of Shanghai Beach, who had no worries about food and clothing since childhood, and had hardly suffered hardships, calmly endured everything and was not crushed by suffering.

She took the initiative to take care of the wives and children of several other diplomats, organized everyone to grow their own vegetables, make shoes, raise chickens and pigs, and learn to make soy sauce and soap.

In 1945, Yan Youyun came to New York with her three daughters and served as a United Nations protocol officer, becoming a prominent female diplomat until her retirement in October 1959.

Gu Weijun at the Paris Peace Conference

This year, Yan Youyun married the famous diplomat Gu Weijun and played the role of "good housekeeper, good nurse and good secretary" 100%.

Gu Weijun and Yan Youyun had three wives before they got married. The first wife was named Zhang Run'e, who belonged to the doll relatives who had been married since childhood.

When he got married, Gu Weijun insisted on not entering the cave room, and was later forced to return to his room, but he slept on the sofa, and his wife did not violate the river water in the well, and they were safe. After getting married, he took his wife to the United States to study.

Later, Gu Weijun met Tang Shaoyi's daughter Tang Baoyue, Tang Baoyue admired the young and talented Gu Weijun, and Tang Baoyue's beauty, gentleness and virtuousness, and noble temperament also deeply attracted Gu Weijun, and the two young people hit it off.

Gu Weijun thought twice and proposed a divorce agreement to Zhang Run'e. He also said that Zhang Run'e can continue to stay in the United States to study at his expense, and he can also choose to return to China to reunite with her parents. All dowries and house items are at her disposal.

Zhang Run'e did not take a position after receiving the letter. Zhang Run'e knew that the twisted melon was not sweet, coupled with her experience in the United States, it also changed her thinking, she agreed to Gu Weijun, and signed the divorce agreement.

After the divorce, she prayed to the Buddha in a long and gray manner, and dropped her hair in the Lujia Guanyin Hall. In 1933, Gu Weijun became the minister of foreign affairs, learned that Zhang Run'e's life was very difficult, specially wrote a letter and sent a huge amount of 50,000 yuan to apologize, but Zhang Run'e returned the letter with money.

In his later years, when Gu Weijun recalled, he praised Zhang Run'e with emotion for her tolerance, patience and innocence.

Gu Weijun and Tang Baoyue had a very good relationship after marriage, and soon had a son and a daughter, Gu Weijun was busy with his own career, and Tang Baoyue took care of the children. But as a diplomat's wife, in order to help her husband's career, she often attended some diplomatic social events.

In October 1918, two grand events were held in the United States, and Gu Weijun could not get out of the house, so he had to send his wife to represent him.

Tang Baoyue was distressed that her husband went to the distant City of Philadelphia on his own, and as a result, he was infected with the global epidemic Spanish flu, which was not developed at that time, and tang Baoyue left two children to die two days later.

After the death of his wife Tang Baoyue, Gu Weijun met the third wife, Huang Huilan. Huang Huilan is the daughter of Huang Zhonghan, the richest overseas Chinese in Indonesia, and her father is a famous "Asian sugar king".

Huang Huilan's husband was a British jazzman who died shortly after marriage. Huang Huilan was deeply attracted by Gu Weijun's talent and demeanor, and launched a fierce attack.

But Huang Huilan's appearance is average, Gu Weijun can't see it, Huang Huilan said: "My money can guarantee the success of your career, let's start cooperation." ”

Gu Weijun was still very hesitant, so he found a famous fortune teller in England and paid a reward of gold pounds to divinate the consequences of this marriage. The fortune teller said, "Good couples are natural, and good luck is great." Gu Weijun agreed to the marriage, which people called "a pound of edge." ”

On October 2, 1920, at the Chinese Embassy in Brussels, Gu Weijun and Huang Huilan held a wedding ceremony of Chia Tai Guangming. The wedding was grand and pompous, costing £10,000 for just 36 sets of gold cutlery, and many diplomatic envoys came to help.

After returning to China, Huang Huilan spent 250,000 yuan to buy a gorgeous mansion in Beijing's Tieshizi Hutong, where Wu Sangui's favorite concubine Chen Yuanyuan once lived. She also employed more than 20 servants to take care of their living and living, which is extremely luxurious.

Many of Gu Weijun's diplomatic entertainment cost Huang Huilan's money. The embassy in Portland Square was very dilapidated, and Huang Huilan felt that she was very humiliated Chinese face, so she renovated it out of her own pocket. Her father sent a lot of money, and she gave it to Gu Weijun to use at any time.

Gu Weijun lived to 98 and his wife lived to 112, the secret of longevity: walking, eating less snacks, and taking care of his wife

The cheongsam that Huang Huilan once wore

Gu Weijun's position was quickly promoted, which greatly satisfied Huang Huilan's vanity. Huang Huilan's contacts are extensive, such as attending buckingham Palace's first post-war court ball, shaking hands with the British ambassador and the King, attending the inauguration of President Truman, and socializing almost every day, which makes her feel very proud.

These are all brought to him by Gu Weijun, and they are also not bought by money, and she enjoys all this.

With the passage of time, the relationship between the two has been estranged, and the 36-year fate has finally come to an end.

Huang Huilan believes that Gu Weijun's communication with the opposite sex makes her unbearable, and she feels angry. Gu Weijun did not think much of Hui Lan's pearlescent aura. Gu Weijun and Huang Huilan eventually parted ways.

In her later years, Huang Huilan wrote "There Is No Feast That Doesn't Break", recalling her life and her enmity with Gu Weijun; But the one with a peaceful mind, although there is resentment, there is no bad language. She is very tolerant, and the names of the women who snatch love from the horizontal knife are not mentioned in the book, let alone vicious words.

On the social stage for more than thirty years, she has spent so much money to add glory to the country and herself. A foreign friend wrote a poem calling her "the most beautiful pearl in the Far East." In his later years, he lived in seclusion in Manhattan, New York, and died in December 1993, living for 100 years.

After Gu Weijun divorced Huang Huilan, he married the fourth lady, Yan Youyun. As early as the 1930s, Yan Youyun knew Gu Weijun, and she was 20 years younger than Gu Weijun.

After the marriage, Mrs. Yan cared for Mr. Gu very much. The two lived together for 26 years. Gu Weijun died in 1985 at the age of 97, at the age of 98.

In Gu Weijun's view, among his four wives, his favorite is Ms. Yan Youyun. Yan Youyun and Yang Guangxuan's three children later naturally became the three stepdaughters of Mr. Gu Weijun, they lost their fathers at an early age, Gu Weijun regarded them as their own, and the three daughters treated Mr. Gu like their own fathers.

Gu Weijun was a well-known Chinese diplomat in the first half of the 20th century, who served as China's envoy to the United States, Britain and France, China's representative to the League of Nations and the United Nations General Assembly, a judge of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, and a vice president of the International Court of Justice.

He lived to the age of 98 and spent 17 years completing 11,000 pages of 5 million words of oral memoirs, the result of Yan Youyun's meticulous care.

Gu Weijun lived to 98 and his wife lived to 112, the secret of longevity: walking, eating less snacks, and taking care of his wife

Gu Weijun signed the UN Charter

She is a housekeeper, housekeeper and hospitable hostess. After getting married, Yan Youyun focused her main energy on taking care of her husband.

Prepare a large number of Chinese and English newspapers for him to read; Chat with him and make him physically and mentally happy; Walk with him and let him be quiet and pleasant; Arrange a game for him to entertain.

Gu Weijun used to go to bed at 11 o'clock at night and get up at 10 o'clock the next morning. Considering that dinner to the next day breakfast has more than ten hours of not eating, afraid of affecting his health, every day at 3 a.m., the wife will cook milk in the thermos cup, but also attached a "do not forget to drink milk" note placed next to the bed, warm supervision, care.

Yan Youyun also often prepared some snacks for Gu Weijun to eat with milk. Because milk is rich in protein, it can only be consumed as a calorie after consuming sufficient amounts of starchy foods. If you drink milk on an empty stomach, you can only replace the starch as a calorie to consume, which is too wasteful.

It was because of his wife's meticulous care that Gu Weijun was able to complete eleven thousand pages of oral memoirs at the age of ninety-six.

Gu Weijun's eldest son, Gu Dechang, said movingly: "If it weren't for her (referring to Yan Youyun), my father's life expectancy would have been shortened by twenty years." In his later years, when Gu Weijun talked about the secret of longevity, he summed up three points: "Walking, eating less snacks, and taking care of his wife."

Gu Weijun loved to eat loquat from his hometown since he was a child, and he also liked mulberries, which also played a considerable role in his health. Gu Weijun concluded that loquat can also be used as a medicine. Li Shizhen's "Compendium of Materia Medica" says: "Loquat leaves are thin and thick in smell, yin in the yang, cure diseases of the lungs and stomach, and are the food for the lower qi."

Gu Weijun loves to drink chrysanthemum tea and also loves to drink chrysanthemum rice wine. Chrysanthemum rice wine is a wine made with chrysanthemums, which is cool and sweet, and is a good product for fitness and longevity.

As early as the Western Han Dynasty, there were records of drinking chrysanthemum starch wine in the court, which gradually spread in the folk. "It can be seen that chrysanthemum wine has a long history as a good product for fitness and longevity."

Gu Weijun's retirement life was very regular. After waking up in the morning, breakfast time is about an hour, eating and drinking, while reading. The English-language newspaper read every day is the New York Times, and the Chinese newspaper is the Central Daily published in Taiwan and the World Journal published in the United States.

Every afternoon, Gu Weijun has to go for a walk on crutches, which is his way of fitness. Lush forests and green grass central park is the perfect place to relax and relax, as long as there is time, Gu Weijun will go for a walk.

In the 1960s and 1970s, the security situation in New York was so poor that he was robbed three times while walking. He was very humorous, always bringing more money for every walk, or always putting some change in his pocket when he went out to send the robbers away, saying that he could not let the robbers return empty-handed.

He himself joked: I am not only rain or shine, but also a bandit who can walk without hindrance to me! Gu Weijun's walk, from the perspective of health, is indeed a way to delay aging by enhancing leg strength. But for safety reasons, he had to go for a walk on the street.

When Gu Weijun was walking, he also had to join a backward walk. Although walking backwards was not invented by Gu Weijun, due to Gu Weijun's popularity and his own promotion of "walking backwards", this exercise method is called "Gu's walking".

In addition to walking, Gu Weijun also likes to swim. In his 90s, he was able to stand on a springboard and dive. Swimming is a masculine sports and entertainment project. When swimming, the large amount of heat consumption of the human body accelerates the metabolism to compensate for the loss of heat and maintain normal body temperature, so that the body temperature regulation system can be exercised, and people's heat tolerance is also improved.

Swimming can enhance the contraction of the heart muscle, but also contact with sunlight and fresh air, which is very helpful for the body to absorb ultraviolet rays and oxygen. Swimming in the general rivers, lakes and seas can also reduce blood pressure.

Another pastime in later life was painting. At the end of the 1960s, Gu Weijun made a special trip to Hong Kong to study Chinese painting. His paintings have fixed subjects, mostly plums, orchids, bamboo, and chrysanthemums. At the age of 97, he drew a map of Jiading County with great interest to express his longing for his hometown.

Gu Weijun lived to 98 and his wife lived to 112, the secret of longevity: walking, eating less snacks, and taking care of his wife

Gu Weijun also likes to play mahjong, he has a quick mind and plays cards very quickly. Someone asked him how lucky he was, and he replied: Nineteen must lose. It's not that my technology is inferior to that of others, it's really because it's a kind of "united front." He said: "This turned out to be a pastime, the rate is low and the difference is small, and it doesn't matter whether you win or lose." ”

Gu Weijun's playing cards is never counted, no cards are deducted, and nine times out of ten will lose. Someone politely asked him to be the winner, but he would never accept it, always stuffing the money in the hands of the loser. Gu Weijun regarded the big names as real entertainment.

Gu Weijun has his own unique understanding of sleep. He once said: "Some people completely separate sleep from waking up, thinking that waking up is life, and sleeping is a dream of Nanke, which belongs to non-life." This is very inaccurate, and sleep is also an important life. I have paid great attention to sleep all my life. I believe that to ensure rationality and productivity when waking up, sleeping can be regarded as the first priority in life. ”

When Mrs. Yan Youyun took care of his daily living life, she paid great attention to arranging his bedroom and bedding. The height of the bed yan Youyun chose for Gu Weijun was based on the degree that he did not have the effort to go to bed and stretched his legs to reach his shoes when he got out of bed.

The length exceeds Gu Weijun's body length by about 30 centimeters. Gu Weijun slept on a wooden bed covered with a mat 6 to 9 centimeters thick.

In this way, all parts of the human body naturally sag and can be in contact with the bed surface. The thick cotton pad on the couch can adapt to the needs of the body surface curve of the sleeper, maintain the integrity of the spine and the normal physiological curvature, which is good for sleep and health.

In the choice of pillows, Yan Youyun took a lot of pain. Do not let him sleep on high pillows. Pillows are too high, interfere with blood circulation, and can easily cause numbness, pain, and movement disorders. People with high blood pressure, cervical spondylosis, and arteriosclerosis should not sleep on a high pillow.

Gu Weijun's pillow is a chrysanthemum pillow. Lu You has a verse that "the head wind makes the chrysanthemum pillow". Chrysanthemum pillow has the effect of awakening the mind, dispelling wind and heat, and can also treat internal heat migraine, dizziness, and high blood pressure.

Chrysanthemum pillows are soft and relaxed, and the smell is fragrant, but chrysanthemums are susceptible to mildew or insect moths, so they should be turned over frequently.

Tianjin Gu Weijun's former residence

One of the things Gu Weijun likes to do in his later years is to gather with his children and grandchildren. Gu Weijun had three sons and a daughter, and the eldest son, Gu Dechang, and daughter Gu Juzhen were born to his second wife, Tang Baoyue.

The second son, Gu Yuchang, and the third son, Gu Fuchang, were born to their second wife, Huang Huilan. Yan Youyun and Yang Guangxing have three daughters. Gu Weijun and Yang Guangxi regard these children as their own children, getting along well and enjoying themselves.

In September 1972, Zhang Hanzhi, a member of the Chinese delegation to the 27th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, was entrusted by Mao Zedong to visit Gu Weijun and was very excited to see the niece of the deceased from his hometown in the motherland.

He inquired about many situations on the mainland. Faced with the invitation to apply for the mainland of the motherland, I was both excited and regretful, and at that time, the conditions were not yet ripe and I could not return to China. But he said affectionately: "I always have China in my heart, and I know that China will eventually be unified." ”

In 1983, Gu Weijun's daughter Gu Juzhen returned to China for sightseeing. When his daughter Gu Juzhen returned to China for sightseeing, Gu Weijun repeatedly told her to visit her hometown and bring back to the country the inkblots of the Ming Dynasty "Jiading Four Mr." and the national righteous soldiers Hou Zhizeng and Huang Chunyao, whom she had treasured for many years.

After Gu Juzhen returned to China, she made a special trip to Jiading to inspect two old sites of the Gu Family Ancestral Hall, and also took many photos to take back to her father as a souvenir. When he learned about the great changes in his hometown, Gu Weijun was very excited.

In 1984, he also wrote Du Fu's poem "Lu from tonight is white, the moon is the hometown of Ming", which was given to the Jiading County Museum for collection.

Unfortunately, however, Gu Weijun did not wait for the day when he returned to the mainland of the motherland. At 11:00 p.m. on November 14, 1985, Gu Weijun was taking a shower before going to bed at home, and when he was trying to put on his clothes, he suddenly fainted and died at the age of 98 (imaginary age).

After Gu Weijun's death, Chiang Ching-kuo, Song Meiling, and others sent wreaths. On the afternoon of the 18th, the Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations and consul general in New York went to the Canber Funeral Home on Maxon Avenue to offer condolences.

Chinese Ambassador to the United States Han Xu and former Ambassador to the United States Zhang Wenjin also sent condolence telegrams: "Elder Gu is an outstanding diplomat in our country with remarkable achievements, we belong to the younger generation, we are admired by the elders, and the memoirs of our later years are being published, and we have made outstanding contributions to China's diplomatic academic circles, and we are particularly admired." ”

Public opinion on the Taiwan side also greatly praised Gu Lao's life's cause and made extremely beautiful remarks. It is rare in modern history for the two sides of the Taiwan Strait to have such consistent evaluations of a prominent figure in the political circles of the Republic of China.

Gu Weijun is gone, but he is still a patriotic diplomat who is indispensable, and his own biography is a diplomatic history of modern China. His thirteen-volume, 6 million-word memoirs, which he painstakingly completed in seventeen years, has become the most precious historical and cultural heritage.

After Gu Weijun's death, her widow, Ms. Yan Youyun, donated 155 of her relics to the Shanghai Jiading Museum and donated US$100,000 to fund the establishment of The Gu Weijun Life Showroom.

The elderly Yan Youyun likes to read books and newspapers, play mahjong, bake cakes, and even weave woolen sweaters.

She often goes out for meetings, travels, and goes shopping at the supermarket. She loves to make new friends, and there are sixty or seventy numbers commonly used in her phone book.

When Yan Youyun was almost a hundred years old, she offered to celebrate her hundredth birthday and hold a dance party, and when people reached the age of 100, there were definitely very few friends, but she still had many young friends. Moreover, Yan Youyun danced for a minute at the dance.

On Yan Youyun's 111th birthday, she also said, why didn't anyone ask me to dance? That night, the 111-year-old danced at the dance and left a deep impression on everyone.

On that day, the guests were full of guests, Xu Zhimo's widow Zhang Youyi, architectural design master I.M. Pei, and pianist Lang Lang were all her guests.

Daughter Yang Xuelan said: "We feel that she is a star-like figure." Her servant said, "She's better than we are, and now she walks in high heels." The old man, who has experienced a hundred years of wind and rain, thinks clearly, writes a diary every day, and a memoir that records his life for a hundred years is about to be completed. ”

On the occasion of Fudan University's celebration of the centenary celebration, the 101-year-old Yan Youyun, who was in good spirits, celebrated the centenary with her alma mater as the first female student in Fudan.

She presented two photos of her 100th birthday in 2004 to Fudan University, wishing her alma mater a bright future. This move has been praised as "centenarians celebrating the centenary of their alma mater".

On September 25, 2015, Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong paid a special visit to Yan Youyun in New York. Li Baodong conveyed the congratulations of State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Yan Youyun's 110th birthday.

Li Baodong said: "This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, as well as the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. As the first Chinese representative to sign the Charter of the United Nations, Mr. Gu Weijun was also the first batch of Chinese employees of the United Nations, and we will not forget that Ms. Gu Weijun was also one of the first Chinese employees of the United Nations to make contributions to the country. Yan Youyun thanked State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi for their congratulations.

On the evening of May 24, 2017, Yan Youyun died peacefully at her home in New York at the age of 112. Among Yan Youyun's 3 daughters, they are all very prominent.
