Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

author:Ms. Sho

In early September 1933, Deng Zhongxia was escorted by several Kuomintang gendarmes to Cell No. 11 of the Detention Center of the Nationalist Gendarmerie Headquarters in Nanjing, on the banks of the Qinhuai River.

The cell was basically full of Communists, and although many people inside did not know Deng Zhongxia, the sign hanging on his chest explained everything, and it read, "Shi Yi is Deng Zhongxia."

Deng Zhongxia was arrested and identified, which shocked the people in the cell, although most of them did not know Deng Zhongxia, but basically knew Deng Zhongxia, especially there was an old subordinate of Deng Zhongxia in the cell, that is, Zheng Shaowen.

The two worked together in the Mutual Aid Federation, when Deng Zhongxia was the director of the National Red Mutual Aid Federation and the secretary of the party group, which had three departments, namely the Rescue Department, the Organization Department, and the Propaganda Department. Zheng Shaowen was the secretary general of the Propaganda Department, under the direct leadership of Deng Zhongxia.

At the beginning of 1933, Zheng Shaowen was arrested and imprisoned for betrayal by traitors, but he did not expect that after more than half a year, the eldest brother Deng Zhongxia was also arrested and imprisoned. And looking at the situation, Deng Zhongxia's identity was exposed.

Zheng Shaowen did not show it on his face, but in his heart he quickly thought a lot: How could big brother be arrested? How was he arrested? To what extent is the identity exposed? Is it all mastered by the enemy, and if it is all mastered, what does he need to do?

These thoughts were pressed in his heart, the situation was unclear, and he could not have anything out of the ordinary. After Deng Zhongxia was pushed into the cell, he did not show anything different to Zheng Shaowen, and he calmly greeted everyone.

When the enemy left, Zheng Shaowen found an opportunity to walk up to Deng Zhongxia and whispered, "Big Brother, what are you going to do?" ”

Without the slightest hesitation, Deng Zhongxia smiled and said, "I plan to go to the Yuhuatai." ”

This made Zheng Shaowen giggle in his heart, he did not expect that the big brother had just entered the prison cell with the determination to sacrifice, and did not expect that the loyalty of the big brother to the party had never changed.

Yes, Deng Zhongxia has always been loyal to the party, and throughout his life, he has not hesitated in the slightest since he threw himself into the revolution, and since he became a communist, he has not stopped advancing. He was ready to die.

In the late autumn of 1894, Deng Zhongxia was born in Yizhang County, Hunan Province, and was considered a compatriot of Chairman Mao, and was one year younger than Chairman Mao.

Deng Zhongxia was diligent and studious since childhood, and had ideals in his heart, he increased his study from a private school run by the clan, and later studied at the Yizhang County Higher Primary School, the Seventh Union Middle School of Chenjun County, and the Hunan Higher Normal School in Changsha. In 1917, Deng Zhongxia followed his father to Beijing and was admitted to Peking University.

Entering Peking University to study was a turning point in Deng Zhongxia's fate.

As soon as he entered the school, he ushered in a new principal, namely Cai Yuanpei. After Cai Yuanpei became the president of Peking University, he advocated the policy of "freedom of thought and inclusiveness", and hired a large number of talents to teach at the university, such as Chen Duxiu, Li Dazhao, Qian Xuan and others, who injected a fresh vitality into Peking University and provided a very important stage for the new cultural movement.

Cai Yuanpei's move has a profound impact, and the impact on the students of Peking University is very deep.

Deng Zhongxia soon came into contact with advanced ideas and advanced teachers at Peking University, made great progress in thinking, and actively threw himself into the anti-imperialist and patriotic struggle under the guidance of Li Dazhao and others.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

In March 1919, Deng Zhongxia and others launched the Peking University Civilian Education Lecture Group to "Enhance the Knowledge of the Commoners and Arouse the Self-Determination of the Commoners", leading the students to the streets to give speeches, so that more people could stand up against imperialism and feudalism.

It was also in this year that China's diplomatic failure at the Paris Peace Conference broke out the May Fourth Patriotic Movement, which had a far-reaching impact in China's history. Deng Zhongxia was an important student leader in the May Fourth Movement, and at the Beijing Federation of Students of Secondary Schools and Above, which was established on May 6, Deng Zhongxia was elected as the General Affairs Officer of the Beijing Federation.

With the may fourth patriotic movement, various federations began to be set up throughout the country, and the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal struggle began to enter a large-scale scale, so Deng Zhongxia threw himself into the torrent of revolution without hesitation, and the following year, under the leadership of Li Dazhao, Deng Zhongxia, Luo Zhanglong, and others secretly organized the Marxist Theory Research Society.

Subsequently, Deng Zhongxia went to Changsha and consulted with his fellow villager and friend Mao Zedong to establish the Hunan Student Federation.

He is getting busier and busier, working more and more, and the pace of progress is becoming more and more stable.

In October 1920, Deng Zhongxia became one of the earliest members of the Communist Group and joined the newly established Beijing Socialist Youth League, and subsequently served as the secretary of the Beijing Local Executive Committee of the Socialist Youth League.

After that, Deng Zhongxia threw himself into leading the workers' movement, and he founded the Changxindian Labor Remedial School, taught the masses of workers to read and write, propagated Marxism, attended the First National Labor Congress and the Second National Congress of the Party, and launched and led the 27th National Congress of the Beijing-Hankou Railway Workers.

In 1925, Deng Zhongxia was assigned by the party to establish the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and he served as secretary general and propaganda minister, and organized and led the provincial and Hong Kong strikes.

These experiences enabled Deng zhongxia to grow rapidly, becoming a staunch revolutionary, one of the outstanding leaders of our party in the early days, and an outstanding leader and theoretician of the workers' movement.

After the defeat of the Great Revolution in 1927, Deng Zhongxia participated in the Eighty-Seven Conference, resolutely supported the general policy of agrarian revolution and armed resistance against the Kuomintang reactionaries determined by the meeting, and was elected as an alternate member of the Provisional Politburo of the Central Committee, and was sent to Shanghai to restore the Party organization under the White Terror, convey the spirit of the Eighty-Seven Conference, and lead and carry out armed struggle.

In 1928, Deng Zhongxia went to Moscow, organized and participated in the Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of China with Zhou Enlai, Qu Qiubai and others, and was elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee, working in the Soviet Union for more than two years, and then returned to Shanghai.

Deng Zhongxia had just returned from the Soviet Union and had made mistakes in his work and was dismissed from all his posts, but he had no complaints and was still full of sincerity. In October 1932, Deng Zhongxia was assigned by our party organization to Shanghai as the director of the National Red Mutual Aid Federation and the secretary of the party group.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

The Main Task of the Mutual Aid Association is to oppose the White Terror, to provide relief to the oppressed masses and revolutionaries, to rescue the arrested revolutionaries and their families, to oppose the Kuomintang's attack on the Soviet areas, and so on.

At that time, the Mutual Aid Federation used underground activities, and in places like Shanghai where the white terror shrouded it was more difficult, but Deng Zhongxia still overcame various difficulties to implement the work purpose of the Mutual Relief Association.

However, in the process of carrying out its work, the people of the Mutual Aid Federation also faced great dangers, and many people were arrested, such as Zheng Shaowen, secretary general of the Propaganda Department, such as Lin Suqin, director of the Rescue Department, and Deng Zhongxia.

Deng Zhongxia was arrested at the same time as Lin Suqin in May 1933, and Lin Suqin's arrest had laid the groundwork a year earlier.

At the end of May 1932, Liu Hong, secretary of the Huxi District Committee of the Communist Youth League, was arrested, and then released because there was no evidence, and the organization arranged for Lin Suqin to understand the situation.

Lin Suqin went to Liu Hong's home on June 8 to understand the situation, Liu Hong explained the circumstances of his arrest and release one by one, and stressed that the enemy had no evidence, so he was quickly released.

The next day, Lin Suqin went to Liu Hong's house again, this time, Lin Suqin brought ten yuan, which was the aid cost after Liu Hong's arrest, and said to Liu Hong: "You first rest for a few days, and then you can work well." ”

Where did she think that Liu Hong could not withstand severe torture after being arrested, and had already defected, and he had set his sights on Lin Suqin. But Liu Hong did not directly betray Lin Suqin when she came to the door, it was not that he did not want to, but he had his own plans.

He hoped to be able to arrest Lin Suqin in the case of solid evidence, and finally in Lin Suqin's residence, so that he was not afraid of not being able to find evidence, so Liu Hong observed Lin Suqin for a long time.

In April and May 1933, Liu Hong found that Lin Suqin was often active in Xiaoshadu Robertson Road in Western Hu, and he began to pay attention to her.

On May 11, Liu Hong found that Lin Suqin had boarded a rickshaw at the intersection of Xiaoshadu Penang road in Western Huxi, and he quickly followed it, and found that Lin Suqin had disembarked at No. 37 Junderi, Huanlong Road, French Concession, and went upstairs after observing the surrounding situation.

Liu Hong was very excited in his heart, he felt that this was probably Lin Suqin's address, even if not, this place should also be a place that Lin Suqin would often go, so for the next three or four days, he stared at this place and finally determined that this was Lin Suqin's home.

With the specific address, Liu Hong was excited in his heart, and immediately reported it to the Kuomintang Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, which attached great importance to it, and then sent people to the French Concession to patrol the house to coordinate the arrest of Lin Suqin.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

It is also a coincidence that this arrest not only captured Lin Suqin, but also captured Deng Zhongxia.

On the evening of May 15, Deng Zhongxia went to Lin Suqin's home to find Lin Suqin to study and arrange new work, and before the two could start their work, the people in the French Concession patrol house surrounded Lin Suqin's home and quickly rushed in.

Lin Suqin and Deng Zhongxia were arrested on the spot, and the people who patrolled the house also found a large number of revolutionary leaflets and books in Lin Suqin's room, as well as various documents, publications, bills for receipts for the expenses of the Mutual Aid Association, personal stamps, letters received by the Mutual Aid Association, and so on.

Deng Zhongxia's arrest quickly attracted the attention of the Mutual Aid Federation, and the rescue activities against him quickly began, and that night, the Mutual Aid Association found Tang Hao and other lawyers to defend Deng Zhongxia, and then contacted Song Qingling, chairman of the China Civil Rights Protection League, and asked her to find a way to rescue Deng Zhongxia.

After Song Qingling knew about it, she attached great importance to it, and she sent someone to invite Lawyer Shi Liang to her home to discuss the defense of Deng Zhongxia.

Although Shi Liang was only a lawyer for two years at that time, he was a patriotic lawyer who participated in the May Fourth Movement and was imprisoned twice, handled many major cases in Shanghai, and was one of the famous "Seven Gentlemen" of the National Salvation Congress.

Deng Zhongxia also quickly got in touch with Shi Liang, and he wrote a note for people to forward to Shi Liang, which only had one sentence: "I was arrested for wrongful conviction, and asked Shi Liang's lawyer to come to the patrol room to meet me." Righteousness. ”

Without hesitation, Shi Liang quickly rushed to the French Concession Patrol House, and she gave the Chinese patrol guarding Deng Zhongxia three oceans, allowing her to talk to Deng Zhongxia alone.

Although Deng Zhongxia saw Shi Liang for the first time, he trusted him very much and said directly: "I am in an important position, please try to rescue him." "Of course he hid his true identity.

Shi Liang naturally did not ask about his identity, he knew that it was enough to be an important member of our party, but as for the rest, there was organizational discipline, so Shi Liang did not ask about his identity, but asked whether there was any evidence in the hands of the enemy.

Deng Zhongxia was sure that he had left no evidence, and he told Shi Liang that he had walked into the wrong room, so he was arrested.

Hearing Deng Zhongxia say this, Shi Liang told him to say nothing when summoned in court. Deng Zhongxia knew the gravity of the matter and nodded.

After leaving the patrol room, Shi Liang was worried that his task was too heavy, so he also found her mentor, Lawyer Dong Kang, to defend Deng Zhongxia together.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

Dong Kang immediately said that the odds of winning this case are still relatively large, the matter occurred in the French Concession, as long as there is no evidence, even if there is a major suspicion, it can only be acquitted in the end, of course, this also has a premise, that is, it must be tried in the concession.

The original facts are indeed as Dong Kang envisioned, deng Zhongxia's case was heard by the Third Branch of the Jiangsu Provincial High Court (hereinafter referred to as the Third Branch of the High School) in the concession, and the time for the trial was urgent.

Deng Zhongxia was arrested on the night of May 15, the trial time was set on May 16, it can be said that the time is very rushed, the enemy is hoping to quickly crush Deng Zhongxia, raid and interrogate what they want, for this reason Deng Zhongxia was just arrested and put into the patrol room, he was severely tortured.

It was just that those torturers greeted him, still did not let him say anything that the enemy wanted, he always insisted that his name was Shi Yi, he came from Hunan to Visit Friends in Shanghai, because he walked in the wrong room, so he was arrested, this is a false arrest.

When the enemy saw Deng Zhongxia, he did not give anything, and could only hope that something could be asked in court, and Deng Zhongxia was also waiting for the trial to begin.

In addition to Deng Zhongxia, lawyers Shi Liang and Dong Kang, who defended him, as well as Kuomintang personnel sent by the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, soon appeared in the case of Deng Zhongxia.

After the trial, Deng Zhongxia stood in the courtroom, straightened his spine and told the fact that he had been mistakenly arrested, and exposed the viciousness of the severe torture of him by the patrol room, demanding that the injuries be examined on the spot, and seeing that the judge had changed his face, Deng Zhongxia immediately issued a series of inquiries:

Why arrest people in broad daylight?

Why are arrestees who have no evidence at all tortured?

Why......

This series of questions gave Deng Zhongxia the initiative, and the judge was dumbfounded, after all, there was really no evidence found. However, at this time, Kuomintang personnel sent by the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau stepped forward to say that Shi Yi's case was involved in another case, and that case was not in the French Concession, so he demanded that Deng Zhongxia be extradited to the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau for trial.

Shi Liang and Dong Kang had long thought of such a thing, and Shi Liang immediately spoke out against it, because Deng Zhongxia had been arrested in the concession and should have been tried in the third branch of the high school, so she requested that she not be transferred.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

One side wants to extradite to the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau for trial, the other side demands that it not be transferred, and it is directly tried in the high school third branch court in the concession, and no one will let anyone, the judge cannot make a ruling, and can only escort Deng Zhongxia back to the patrol house.

The second hearing was held on May 23, seven days later, during which both sides were making preparations, and Shi Liang approached Gu Shouxi, a lawyer who patrolled the French Concession, hoping that he could help Deng Zhongxia. Shi Liang said to him:

"Shi Yi is wronged, there is no evidence, and he cannot be extradited to the Chinese world under any circumstances." If they go to the Chinese world, they 'would rather kill three thousand by mistake than slip through the net', and this person will be wronged. ”

Gu Shouxi promised to help Deng Zhongxia, and the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau directly issued an official document requesting extradition.

At the second hearing, it was Shi Liang and Tang Hao who defended Deng Zhongxia, and Gu Shouxi stood up against extradition, even with the official documents of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, the judge finally decided not to transfer Shi Yi.

This was a stage victory, as long as the trial was held in the French Concession, the possibility of rescuing Deng Zhongxia was much greater.

However, people think that victory is in sight, but they do not know that hidden dangers have already been buried.

At that time, the task of the phased rescue work was to oppose the extradition of Deng Zhongxia, but did not oppose the extradition of Lin Suqin at the same time, which was not that the rescuers forgot, but because everyone believed that Liu Hong had betrayed Lin Suqin, so Lin Suqin's identity had been exposed, and it was impossible to oppose extradition.

So when Deng Zhongxia's ruling that he was not allowed to remove the mention came down, Lin Suqin was handed over to the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau. The Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau is the territory of the Kuomintang, and is naturally very interested in Lin Suqin's identity, and if Lin Suqin can speak, she will inevitably get a lot of useful information.

To this end, the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau directly handed Lin Suqin over to the Party Affairs Investigation Section of the Central Organization Department of the Kuomintang secret service organ (the predecessor of the Central Unification). The agents tortured lin Suqin, coerced and seduced, and in the dark cell, she did not persist, she rebelled.

She not only said her identity in the Mutual Aid Association, but also said deng Zhongxia's identity.

The fact that Shi Yi was Deng Zhongxia made the KmT extremely excited, but they were also afraid of getting it wrong, and Lin Suqin immediately said that Li Huixin, who had been arrested earlier, was Deng Zhongxia's wife, and her identity in the party was a traffic officer within the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.

Li Huixin was arrested and imprisoned as early as 1932, and although she had not yet been rescued, her identity had not been exposed, so she was exposed by Lin Suqin.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

Under the rescue outside the prison and the struggle inside the prison, Deng Zhongxia, who was about to be released, did not expect Lin Suqin to defect, and the rebellion was so complete.

On July 26, Deng Zhongxia met his wife Li Huixin in prison, which should have been a moment of hugging and crying, this should have been a time of rejoicing, but the two people only felt a chill in their hearts.

Although the two had not seen each other for more than a year, neither of them wanted such a meeting, and they knew in their hearts that this meeting was not what they wanted.

Because the Kuomintang sent Li Huixin to confirm Deng Zhongxia's identity, but the two were tried and tested revolutionaries in the end, they were not unprepared for such a scene, they could only suppress the emotions in their hearts and remain silent on their faces.

According to the kuomintang's request, Li Huixin carefully "identified" Deng Zhongxia, and then insisted that she did not know this person, who was not her husband at all.

Li Huixin could also take a good look at Deng Zhongxia, but Deng Zhongxia did not dare to look at Li Huixin more, he was afraid that the enemy would see something, but he glanced at Li Huixin faintly, and then said that he did not know Li Huixin.

What kind of pain should it be for a husband and wife to meet and not know each other? This kind of pain is known only to themselves, no matter how fierce, they can only endure it, and not recognizing each other is the protection of the other party, they can only pretend not to know.

This is the ultimate cruelty, full of affectionate cruelty.

What's even more cruel is that this is the last time the two will meet.

When the enemy saw that Li Huixin did not identify Deng Zhongxia, they sent her back to the original prison, in fact, in their opinion, letting Li Huixin identify it was only to confirm it, even if it could not be confirmed, with Lin Suqin's identification, they could investigate from other aspects, and they could always confirm Deng Zhongxia's identity.

In the end, the Kuomintang agents confirmed that Shi Yi was Deng Zhongxia and reported the matter to Chiang Kai-shek.

Chiang Kai-shek knew and knew Deng Zhongxia and knew that he was a staunch Communist, so he issued a secret order that the relevant Departments of the Kuomintang must extradite Deng Zhongxia to the Kuomintang military judicial organ for handling, and sent a secret telegram to Gu Zhenglun, commander of the Kuomintang Capital Gendarmerie Command, demanding that Deng Zhongxia be escorted to Nanjing and immediately executed by firing squad.

With Chiang Kai-shek's secret order, the Kuomintang Central Party Headquarters and the Capital Gendarmerie Command immediately sent people to Shanghai to work with the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau and the Shanghai Garrison Headquarters to extradite Deng Zhongxia.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

They spent a lot of money to bribe the upper and lower levels of the Patrol House in the French Concession, and in the name of the Kuomintang Central Committee, forced the Third Branch of the High School to transfer Shi Yi to Nanjing, and they also wrote a big mark on the judge who had made the decision to "not transfer" Shi Yi.

Soon, Shi Yi's case was heard again in the third branch of the high school, although in court, Deng Zhongxia argued on the basis of reason, and Shi Liang and Tang Hao also vigorously defended Deng Zhongxia and opposed extradition. However, when Zhan Jifeng, legal adviser of the Shanghai Municipal Police Command, took out the official documents of the Kuomintang Central Committee's secret order, and then saw the military and police officers standing next to Zhan Jifeng, the judge still made a ruling to hand over Deng Zhongxia to the Kuomintang military organs for trial.

At this point, Deng Zhongxia's identity was exposed, and he lost the hope of being rescued, and in front of him, there were only two ways to go: either bow his head and steal his life, or raise his head and sacrifice.

The former, he never thought about, the latter, he was never afraid.

After the verdict was pronounced, he was escorted to a security car and then to the Detention Center of the Shanghai Municipal Police Command. The Security Command was only a transitional point, and a few days later, Deng Zhongxia was sent to the detention center of the Nationalist Capital Gendarmerie Command.

Although Chiang Kai-shek had already secretly executed Deng Zhongxia directly, the Kuomintang agents still wanted to give it a try, and in their opinion, if they could get Deng Zhongxia to bow his head, they would certainly be able to obtain quite important secrets from our party.

To this end, they used all their strength and various means to stage in turn, but whether it was torture, coercion and inducement, or alienation, Deng Zhongxia was always unmoved.

No matter what tricks they played, Deng Zhongxia had already decided to go to the Yuhuatai.

On the first day he was escorted to Cell 11 of the Detention Center of the Nationalist Capital Gendarmerie Command, he was ready to go to the Rain Flower Terrace, and this preparation was also told to Zheng Shaowen, the old subordinate in the cell.

But even though he had decided to die, he was still very concerned about his comrades, and he once asked Zheng Shaowen: "Do you know the situation of Luo Dengxian?" Where is he? ”

Luo Dengxian, one of the early leaders of the Chinese workers' movement and the main organization and founder of the anti-Japanese armed forces in northeast China, was arrested and imprisoned in February 1933, and the Mutual Aid Association organized the rescue of Luo Dengxian, and Soong Ching Ling also organized rescue activities, and personally visited Luo Dengxian in prison.

But their rescue operation has not been successful, the Kuomintang government refused to release Luo Dengxian, on August 29, 1933, only 28 years old Luo Dengxian was escorted to the Yuhuatai Execution Ground, where Luo Dengxian said: "My personal death is not a pity, the people of the whole country have not been liberated, the responsibility has not been lost, it is a regret for eternity!"

With this regret, he resolutely went to his death.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

Thinking of this, Zheng Shaowen had a very heavy heart and said to Deng Zhongxia: "He has gone to the rain flower platform. ”

Hearing such an answer, Deng Zhongxia was silent for a while and said softly, "Ah, he took a step first." ”

Deng Shaowen was a little sad, although he was accustomed to seeing life and death, but every time he faced the sacrifice of his comrades, his heart was still sad, he did not know what else to do for this big brother, he only hoped that in the last few days, this big brother could walk decently.

Originally, there was an unwritten rule in the cell, the sleeping bunk of the advanced cell, the sleeping bunk of the back bunk, if the bed was full, he could only sleep on the side of the toilet, and when there was an empty bed, he could go to the bed, when Deng Zhongxia went in, it was already full, according to the custom, he could only sleep on the side of the toilet.

But Zheng Shaowen was reluctant to let the big brother who was about to die heroically sleep by the toilet. He thought for a while and asked Deng Zhongxia if it was still necessary to hide his identity, and Deng Zhongxia said that there was nothing to hide, so Zheng Shaowen said to everyone:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is Deng Zhongxia, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and general political commissar of the Second Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Now that we are here, ready to give our lives for the Party and the people, we should take care of him and invite him to sleep in bed. ”

Everyone more or less knew Deng Zhongxia, and naturally admired him very much, so soon someone gave up a position on the upper bunk and let Deng Zhongxia sleep on the upper bunk at night.

The next day, the entire prison basically knew the news of Deng Zhongxia's arrest.

At that time, Tao Zhu was also imprisoned in this prison, he united and encouraged comrades in prison, was the secretary of the secret party branch in prison, led everyone to carry out a lot of struggles, and quietly asked Zheng Shaowen when he let the wind blow the next day: "It was Deng Zhongxia who came in yesterday, right?" What was his attitude? ”

Zheng Shaowen said without hesitation: "He plans to go to the Yuhuatai." ”

This topic was relatively heavy, Tao Zhu thought about it, and then asked: "Is it true?" ”

Zheng Shaowen knew that this was not a trivial matter and said to go back and ask again. When he mentioned the question of attitude to Deng Zhongxia, Deng Zhongxia jumped up from the bed and said loudly: "Well asked, you tell the comrades that I Deng Zhongxia is burned to ashes and is also a communist." ”

This was the most sonorous and powerful answer of a Communist Party member in the face of death, and it was a confession that shocked the world, and even today, it still feels a tremor in the heart.

This answer is shocking, and it is not only the confession of Deng Zhongxia, but also the confession of countless communists who have been walking on the road of saving the country and the people.

Deng Zhongxia: In prison, he did not recognize his wife, a sentence shocked the world, and the 39-year-old blood sprinkled rain and flowers

The answer quickly spread to all corners of the prison, and the comrades discussed pooling money to improve Deng Zhongxia's diet so that he could finally eat a hot meat noodle.

When Deng Zhongxia saw the bowl of noodles, without saying anything, his heart was shaking, he did not refuse, he was touched by this extraordinary unity.

Deng Zhongxia did not stay in Cell 11 for long, and soon the enemy interrogated him, and the interrogation time was very short, according to Zheng Shaowen's recollection, the content of the interrogation, he once asked Deng Zhongxia, Deng Zhongxia answered him with five questions and five answers:

"What's your name?"

"Deng Zhongxia, also known as Shi Yi."

"Are you a member of the Communist Party?"

"Yes, I'm a Communist."

"What are you doing in the party branch?"

"Member of the Central Committee and Political Commissar of the Second Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army."

"What else have you done?"

"Enough! Enough to shoot, what else to ask? ”

"Who else are you and your colleagues in the Helong Red Army?"

"You know I can't talk, so why ask me?"

Since his identity has been exposed, for him, there is only one way to sacrifice.

The enemy had no choice but to make him a prisoner on death row and transferred him to a separate cell, where Deng Zhongxia knew that his time was short, and he wrote a letter to the organization in prison:

"Comrades, I am about to go to Yuhuatai, you continue to work hard, the final victory is ours after all."

Fast forward to September 21, and 39-year-old Deng Zhongxia was escorted to the Yuhuatai Execution Ground, on the way, despite being shackled and injured, he still took a firm step and shouted "Down with the Kuomintang!" "Long live the Chinese Communist Party!" "The proletariat of the whole world unites!"

Death is not worth mentioning in the face of faith, bullets can make him fall, blood stains the earth red, but one person falls, and thousands of people stand up, he does not see the victory of the people, but he knows that victory belongs to the people in the end.
