In the previous post in the "Spring and Autumn of the Later Lord", the author talked about the infighting between Cao Zhang and Cao Pi, and today I will continue to talk about Cao Zhi's situation after Cao Pi succeeded to the throne.

When Cao Zhang led his troops into Luoyang, he once wanted to support Cao Zhi as the King of Wei. Cao Zhi knew that he could not fight Cao Pi, so he advised Cao Zhang not to make trouble. Cao Zhang, unable to get Cao Zhi's support, saw that Xu Huang and Zhang Liao's soldiers and horses were moving closer to Luoyang, so he had to listen to Cao Zhi's advice and give up his military power to go to the fiefdom and take the country. After a thrilling mutiny, Cao Pi finally ascended to the throne of the King of Wei.

At this time, Cao Zhi's situation was not good, and Cao Pi began to find ways to deal with Cao Zhi. There is a saying that "if you want to add to your sins, you will not be able to do anything." Cao Pi soon found the charge for Cao Zhi, and this charge was very reasonable. It turned out that Cao Zhi did not attend the funeral of his father after Cao Cao's death, which was a major sin of filial piety in the ancient environment of ruling the country with filial piety.

Cao Pi sent emissaries with troops to Xuan Cao Zhi, the Marquis of Linzi, to attend the funeral of Lord Kao. Cao Zhi took advantage of the wine and danced his sword to hold Cao Pi's emissaries hostage. Cao Zhi was accused of filial piety, and later committed the crime of "drunken disobedience and slowness, robbing the messenger", and any of the two crimes could make Cao Pi kill Cao Zhi with courage.

After Cao Zhizhi captured the capital, Empress Bian, as the mother of Cao Pi and Cao Zhi's brothers, put a lot of pressure on Cao Pi. Cao Zhi had no soldiers on his hands, and Cao Pi was not afraid of him doing things. Cao Pi did not want to risk turning his face with his mother to kill Cao Zhi, but only demoted Cao Zhi to the outside. In this matter, the record of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms is that "the emperor was the empress dowager, and degraded the Marquis of Anxiang".

After Cao Cao's death, the infighting between his two sons was roughly like this. By the time of the Southern Dynasty Liu Song Dynasty, Liu Yiqing, the king of Linchuan, published a copy of "The New Language of the World". The Liu Song Dynasty, with shu Han as its orthodoxy, was not pleasing to Cao Cao's horizontal and vertical views, and was even more hostile to the Wei regime established by Cao Cao. Liu Yiqing did not have good intentions and wrote "The New Language of the World" into a subset of Hei Cao's paragraphs.

Liu Yiqing fabricated Cao Cao's successor Cao Pi to make Cao Zhi a poem in seven steps for the Wei regime established by Cao Cao, and if he could not write a passage that would kill his brother Cao Zhi. He also wrote a poem from Cao Zhizhi's mouth, and as a result, Yin and Yang mistakenly wrote the famous "Seven-Step Poem".

Regarding the "Seven-Step Poem", there is no record of any information before the Liu Song Dynasty, and the original provenance of the document is the "New Language of the World". Academic circles generally believe that the original author is not Cao Zhi, but Liu Yiqing, but because Liu Yiqing is a fake Cao Zhi said the "Seven Steps Poem", so the folk have always thought that Cao Zhi is the author of the "Seven Steps Poem".

Not long after Cao Cao's death, Cao Pi ascended the throne as emperor. What will Cao Pi say the emperor will bring to the 13-year-old Ah Dou? This matter will be described in the next "After the Lord Spring and Autumn" series of posts. Welcome to the column viewer to follow and subscribe to my account.
