Liu Yiqing (403-444), also spelled Jibo, was originally from Pengcheng (present-day Xuzhou, Jiangsu) and lived in Jingkou (present-day Zhenjiang, Jiangsu), and was known as a "literati politician". From June of the ninth year of Yuan Jia (432) to February of the sixteenth year of Yuan Jia (439), he served as the assassin of Jingzhou for eight years.

Liu Yiqing was a member of the Southern Dynasty Song Dynasty. His uncle was Liu Yu, the founding monarch of the Southern Song Dynasty. His biological father was Liu Daopi, the King of Jing in Changsha. His uncle and adoptive father was Liu Daogui, the Prince of Linchuan. Liu Daogui was childless under his knees and had Liu Yiqing as his heir.

In August of the twelfth year (416) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Liu Yiqing inherited the title of Liu Daogui and was given the title of Duke of Nan County. In the fourteenth year of Yixi (418), he was made the general of Yuzhou Assassin and Auxiliary State, and was the governor of Huaibei Military. In the first year of Song Yongchu (420), he attacked the King of Linchuan and enlisted him as a servant. Beginning in the first year of Yuan Jia (424), he served as a regular attendant, secretary supervisor, Duzhi Shangshu, Danyang Yinjiafeng auxiliary general, and Shangshu Zuo servant.

Emperor Wen of Song,6 Yilong (劉義隆) and his brother And chancellor Liu Yikang (劉義康) were "in a dispute between the lords", and Liu Yiqing, fearing that he would be harmed, requested to withdraw from the imperial court. Yuan Jia was approved by Emperor Wen of Song in the eighth year (431). In June of the ninth year of Yuan Jia (432), Liu Yiqing was appointed as an envoy to the imperial court, serving as the general of Pingxi and the assassin of Jingzhou, and the military governor of Jingyong Yining Liang's northern and southern Qin seven prefectures.

At that time, Jingzhou, with its strong geographical strength and solid military strength, regardless of its geographical area and financial revenue, as well as the number and quality of its troops, occupied "half of the country" in the Southern Song Dynasty. Emperor Liu Yu of the Song Dynasty said that only my sons could serve as the assassins of Jingzhou. Although Liu Yiqing was not Liu Yu's son, he was a nephew of the family, and Emperor Wen of Song was relieved to let him serve as the assassin of Jingzhou.

Liu Yiqing was modest in temperament, honest and self-disciplined, and from the time he arrived in Jingzhou to the end of his departure, the property sent by his officials was not accepted. However, he is very caring for the officials in the jurisdiction. It is stipulated that where parents and in-laws do not live with their children in the official building, the government will give items to the homes of these officials three times a year to show their condolences. After hard work, Liu Yiqing governed Jingzhou into the most stable area of the Southern Song Dynasty.

From the beginning of the reign of Jingzhou, Liu Yiqing recruited literary scholars from all over the world, gathered talents from all walks of life under his door, and became famous from near and far. The more famous He Changyu, Lu Zhan, Xiao Siyan, He Yan, Sheng Hongzhi, Yuan Shu, Bao Zhao and others. It laid a solid foundation for the compilation of famous works such as "The New Language of the World" and "Youminglu".

"The New Language of the World" pioneered the Chinese note novel and is a representative work of "Zhiren Novel". Originally an 8-volume book, the Present Book is 3 volumes, including 36 subjects. The speeches and anecdotes recorded from the Han Wei to the Eastern Jin Dynasty reflect the thoughts, lives and talk customs of the scholars at that time. The "Son of Yang" in "The New Language of the World" has been selected to be included in the language textbook of the Human-Taught Edition.

Liu Yiqing is the author of "YoumingLu" (also known as "Yu Minglu" and "Yu Haoji") and "Xuanjian Ji", both of which are collections of Zhiwei novels, but they have all been scattered. Two poems. Imitating the Eastern Han Dynasty Bangu's "Canon Quotations" into the "Dian Shu", he sang praises to Emperor Wen of Song. He is the author of 10 volumes of the Biography of the Ancestors of Xuzhou.
