In order to start and complete the first national aquaculture germplasm resources census on schedule, grasp the existing aquatic resources in Heishui County, and more effectively protect wild water species, Heishui County has fully completed the enhancement and stocking of small hydropower fisheries since the beginning of September, and invited third-party companies to carry out the census of aquaculture germplasm resources.
The aquaculture germplasm resources cover the first-level tributaries of the county and the tributaries of each small hydropower plant, and the main census contents include: phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthic species, distribution density, biomass, dominant species, etc., and it is expected to complete the census before the end of December this year. Through this census, the status of aquaculture germplasm resources species, population numbers, regional distribution, conservation and utilization of aquaculture germplasm resources in Heishui County will be further investigated and verified, so as to provide a scientific basis for the collection and protection of characteristic resources in the future and enhance the competitiveness of the aquatic seed industry.
