In 1931, the 30,000 Red Army in the Jiangxi Soviet Region was suddenly surrounded and suppressed by 100,000 Kuomintang troops. In June 1935, Lu Zimei took 2 soldiers to reconnoiter, and when he returned, he was surrounded by enemy troops. The enemy was outnumbered, Lu Zimei and the soldiers could only choose to disperse and break through, and in the fierce struggle, two soldiers were unfortunately shot and killed.
At this time, it was late, because the ambush had delayed a lot of time, and the opportunity to meet the large troops had been missed, Lu Zimei had to estimate the direction of the troops with the faint starlight. Just as he was trying to rush towards the large troops, seven or eight figures came in front of him, Lu Zimei was physically and mentally exhausted, thinking that the comrades sent by the organization to find him, happily talked with the other party to expose his identity, at this time Lu Zimei's bullets had been shot, and he could only be captured by the enemy.
At that time, the red army cadres were dressed the same as the soldiers, and the enemy did not know the identity of Lu Zimei's regimental commander, only when he was an ordinary cook. On the way to help the enemy carry water and cook, Lu Zimei took advantage of the enemy's lack of attention and escaped by chance. He traveled day and night, and for two months he could not find any trace of the Red Army, which had been transferred to other places.
Lu Zimei wandered aimlessly in this unfamiliar city, not knowing where to go to meet the organization, and in desperation, he had to beg all the way back to his hometown. In order to protect her own safety and not to bring intrusion to her hometown, Lu Zimei concealed her identity as a Red Army.
Although Lu Zimei was in his hometown, he always had the party in mind, and his longing for his comrades-in-arms intensified. He had been searching for the various whereabouts of the Red Army, and finally in 1938, Lu Zimei learned that the Red Army had arrived in northern Shaanxi and decided to go north to find troops. As a result, they encountered the Japanese army, and the trip was delayed, and they failed to reach Yan'an.

At this time, when the Japanese army was frantically invading our country, the Red Army adopted guerrilla tactics and could not stay in one place for a long time, and as soon as Lu Zimei arrived at his destination, the Red Army's troops had already been transferred in advance.
Even though she was like a goose that had left the army, Lu Zimei had never forgotten the ideal she should have as a Communist Party member. During his time in the township, he secretly propagated the party's policies to the poor villagers many times, recounted the glorious deeds of the Red Army in cracking down on the landlords for the welfare of the masses, secretly strengthened the revolutionary forces, and successfully recruited a group of patriotic villagers in his hometown to spontaneously carry out anti-Japanese activities.
Later, with the support of the masses, Lu Zimei was elected as the township chief. During the Battle of Huaihai, he led two or three thousand peasant armed forces all the way to the front line to support, contributing to the combat troops on the front line at that time.
No matter how many years have passed, Lu Zimei's idea of finding the party in her heart has never stopped. Seeing that his method of finding the party did not work, he changed his thinking, repeatedly reported to the local leaders on his experience as a Red Army, and pleaded for the restoration of the party membership. However, due to the conditions at that time, Lu Zimei's experience could not be verified and implemented, and the restoration of party membership was not settled.
When the people's Republic of China was founded in 1949, Lu Zimei saw through the newspaper that the comrades who fought together in the past were all awarded titles one by one, and after realizing that this was the best opportunity for him to restore his party membership, Lu Zimei thought of his father and fellow countrymen who had advanced and retreated with him for many years, and they needed him. So there is no choice to stand up and say who you are at this time.
Soon after, the elderly Lu Zimei's old leg injury recurred, and he was approved by the organization to leave his post for recuperation. After leaving his post, he still did not forget the social responsibility that he should assume as a party member, when the agricultural cooperative movement was rising and falling across the country, he actively mobilized the masses to join the society, and also took out his 500 yuan retirement pension and medical expenses to buy livestock for the collective, and recommended himself as a breeder.
In 1965, the village ran a primary school, lacking teachers, Lu Zimei, who was in her sixties, accepted the task of cultivating the next generation and became a private teacher.
