On March 23, 1949, at Xiyuan Airport in Beijing, people, officers and soldiers came and spontaneously assembled here.

At about 11 a.m., after Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, and other central leaders led the PLA headquarters to arrive in Beiping from Xibaipo, the people, officers and men greeted them in the middle of the road.

Seeing this scene, Chairman Mao was full of feelings. I am grateful for the years of war and the hardships of the people, grateful to the military and the people for their unity of heart and hatred for the same enemy, and feel that China has been reborn. Suddenly, waving to the welcoming party, he saw a taller woman, and he closed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing an illusion. Then the chairman hurried toward the woman. After clasping the woman's hands, Chairman Mao said with emotion: "It turns out that you are still alive!" ”

Who is this woman? How could the Chairman take the initiative to come forward and say hello?

Meet nobles and change your destiny

It turned out that this woman was Li Jianzhen, China's first female county party secretary.

Li Jianzhen was born in 1907 in Fengshun, Guangdong. Because the family has been unable to make ends meet for a long time, she was sold by her parents to another family by her parents at the age of 8 months as a child bride. Fortunately, her adoptive father treated Li Jian really well and sent her to a private school to teach her to read and write.

At the age of 19, Li Jianzhen met the teacher who changed her life's fate- Peng Peng. At that time, The surging came to Jiaotouwo to carry out the peasant movement, and he was full of vigor and enthusiasm to start the revolution. Under the surging infection, Li Jianzhen also resolutely embarked on the revolutionary road, striving to change the fate that had been arranged.

In the Guangdong area, the atmosphere of singing mountain songs is extremely strong, and Li Jianzhen, who has been living here since he was a child, is naturally indispensable to this "specialty". During the revolutionary period, when it was necessary to publicize and organize the work of the peasant associations, Li Jianzhen used the "mountain song" as the intermediary to actively publicize it, so as to penetrate the people's hearts and win the hearts of the people. The organization saw Li Jianzhen's proactive and outstanding performance in her work, so it elected her as the secretary of the branch of the Peasants' Self-Defense Corps.

In 1930, the 23-year-old Li Jianzhen was again appointed secretary of the Raohepu Central County Party Committee and secretary of the Changting County Party Committee, and in this way, Li Jianzhen became the first female county party secretary in the Central Soviet District!

In addition to carrying out propaganda in various villages, Li Jianzhen, who took office, also led the people to fight local tyrants, divide up the land, engage in production, and set up their own armed forces to strictly guard against the enemy's counterattack and sabotage at all times.

Once, when Li Jianzhen's superior leaders reported their work to Chairman Mao, they won Chairman Mao's praise one after another: "This female comrade is really not simple! ”

Saved the two founding lieutenant generals

A long journey, difficult and dangerous. However, there was such a team, wearing octagonal hats and gray Lenin suits, formed by 32 heroes. And Li Jianzhen is one of these 32.

Once, the enemy took aim at a cadre recuperation company formed by old cadres and wounded Red Army generals, and after a frenzied explosion, it was killed and wounded everywhere. Seeing this, the tenacious Li Jianzhen blushed. At this moment, Chairman Mao came up and personally came to inquire, and after Li Jianzhen explained the casualties word for word, Mao Zedong hurriedly beckoned the guard squad to stay behind to help carry the wounded and pick up the medicine boxes. After everything was arranged, Chairman Mao left, looking at the back shadow, and Li Jianzhen's tears flowed from his eyes.

Another time, Yao Zhe, then the commander of the Red Third Army, was unfortunately shot in the leg by an enemy bullet during a fierce battle with the enemy. Unable to move, it was almost impossible for him to climb snowy mountains and cross meadows. In desperation, the organization decided to entrust the unconscious Yao Zhe to a family. Li Jianzhen thought of the bloody battle of the regimental commander Yao Zhe on the battlefield, heroic and fearless, and really could not bear to leave him on the way to the Long March. Therefore, Li Jianzhen risked violating discipline and being remembered, and found a civilian husband, a groom, and Yao Zhe's guards, and they decided that the four of them would take turns to carry people. In this way, the scalp persisted for tens of miles, and they finally rescued the regimental commander Yao Zhe from the ghost gate. And Yao Zhe, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, was awarded the title of "Lieutenant General". There was also a "founding lieutenant general", who was Zhong Chibing, who was then the political commissar of the Red Third Army.

Speaking of him, it is closely related to the "cadre cultivation company" we mentioned above.

Zhong Chibing, who was desperately fighting with the enemy on the battlefield, was shot in the right leg by the enemy bullet, and after amputation, he entered the cultivation company. During the Long March, seeing that the amputated Zhong Chibing was in danger of being martyred, Li Jianzhen led people to lift Zhong Chibing and ran. After the founding of New China, Zhong Chibing, who was recuperating from war wounds in the hospital, burst into tears of excitement when he met Li Jianzhen in the corridor.

In 1937, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Li Jianzhen accompanied her husband into the frontline battlefield. Unfortunately, the husband was killed in a war. After losing her husband, Li Jianzhen took her husband's gun and continued to fight. Later, some people rumored that Li Jianzhen was also sacrificed. Chairman Mao, who learned the news, was very sorry. But in fact, Li Jianzhen was still on the front line, mobilizing the masses and contributing his share to the victory of the War of Resistance.
