Beijing News (reporter Liu Huan) Beijing Municipal Market Supervision Bureau recently released a new batch of food safety supervision and sampling information announcement shows that 1 batch of nominal "Xinyuan zhai" osmanthus sour plum soup beverage detected cyclamate exceeding the standard. On April 21, the person in charge of Xinyuanzhai responded to the Beijing News reporter that the batch of products was suspected of being counterfeit.

According to the announcement, the osmanthus acid plum soup beverage (300mL/bottle, 2019-09-09) produced by the nominal Xinyuanzhai (Tianjin) Beverage Co., Ltd. and operated by Beijing Ya'er Liji Nancheng Catering Co., Ltd.) had a detection value of 1.01k/kg, while the national standard value was ≤0.65k/kg.

It is understood that cyclamate is a commonly used sweetener, and its sweetness is 30 to 40 times that of sucrose. As a non-nutritive sweetener, it can be widely used in bread, pastries, beverages, prepared wines and preserves.

Xinyuanzhai is a famous long-established brand in Beijing. On April 21, in response to the follow-up treatment of the problem batch of products, the Beijing News reporter called Xinyuanzhai (Tianjin) Beverage Co., Ltd. The relevant person in charge said that the batch of products in question is not produced by Xinyuanzhai and has not received the penalty documents issued by the government at present, and Xinyuanzhai does not have any cooperative relationship with Beijing Ya'er Liji Nancheng Catering Co., Ltd., which is suspected to be counterfeit products.

It is worth noting that the announcement shows that Xinyuanzhai (Tianjin) Beverage Co., Ltd. has raised objections to the test results and applied for re-inspection; after re-inspection by the National Meat Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, the preliminary inspection conclusion is maintained.

For the reasons for the previous objection and now calling the problem batch of products counterfeit, the relevant person in charge of Xinyuanzhai replied that the specific situation is not clear, and everything will be handled by the company's legal affairs.
