The master of traditional Chinese studies, Zhang Taiyan, peach and plum are all all over the world, and Hu Shi Huang Kan has inherited the mantle

The master of traditional Chinese studies, Zhang Taiyan, has a profound academic foundation, especially in the field of textual exegesis, which can be called "the first in two hundred years", but it is more noteworthy that Zhang Taiyan's disciples have achieved many talents and extraordinary achievements.

At that time, it was said that Mr. Taiyan's disciples were all over the world, which profoundly influenced the literary circles in the early 20th century, when the university Chinese department was almost Zhang's world, and even now, many professors in the Chinese departments of domestic universities can be traced back to Zhang Huangyi.

Among Zhang Taiyan's disciples, the most famous was naturally Lu Xun.

Others, such as Zhou Zuoren, Qian Xuantong, Liu Bannong, Huang Kan, Liu Wendian, Xu Shousheng, Shen Yinmo, Cao Juren, Jiang Liangfu, etc., are all masters who have achieved extraordinary achievements in their respective fields.

Zhang Taiyan's favorite was the eldest disciple Huang Kan. Huang Kan can be said to be the successor of Zhang Taiyan's mantle, and he inherited and developed Zhang Taiyan's best phonological philology, forming a school known as "Zhang Huangzhixue".

Huang Kan was also Hu Shi's main enemy during the New Culture Movement. But it is interesting that Hu Shi was teaching "History of Chinese Philosophy" at Peking University at that time, and his lecture notes "Outline of the History of Chinese Philosophy" followed Zhang Taiyan's views a lot, and from this point of view, Hu Shi was also the successor of Zhang Taiyan's academic mantle.
