In order to further enhance the awareness of the whole people to think of the source of drinking water and call on more people to participate in the protection of drinking water sources, on May 12, the Shenzhen Drinking Water Source Protection and Management Office organized representatives of water source protection workers to carry out the spring visit and study activities of the Dongshen Water Supply Project Memorial Park in the Dongjiang Water Supply Source.
The Dongshen Water Supply Project Memorial Park is established in the Jinhu Pumping Station of the Dongshen Water Supply Project, which is a memorial garden built by the Guangdong Provincial Government with the theme of "Source of Life" to record the construction process of the Dongshen Water Supply Renovation Project. In the 60s of the 20th century, the CPC Central Committee built a large-scale cross-basin water diversion project to solve the drinking water difficulties of Hong Kong compatriots. This activity traced back to the source by visiting the Dongshen Water Supply Project Memorial Park, so that the water source protection workers could inherit and carry forward the spirit of struggle to protect drinking water sources.
At the beginning of the event, under the guidance of the docent, the representatives of water source protection workers came to the first stop of the event - the Cultural Square. There are various water supply devices placed in the square, and under the narrator's narration, the representatives of water source protection workers have a deeper understanding of various water supply devices. On the cultural square, there is also the beautiful cultural landscape stone sculpture "Source of Life" of the Dongshen Water Supply Project. The stone carving symbolizes that the motherland feeds Hong Kong compatriots with sweet milk, and the "source of life" comes from the mother whose blood is thicker than water and whose flesh and blood are affectionate.
Walking into the second stop of this event - Dongshen Exhibition Hall, with the affectionate narration of the narrator, looking at the old photos on the wall, everyone on the scene seemed to have returned to the historical site of the construction of Dongshen Water Supply Project. It is the countless Dongshen people who stick to their posts and let the clear water of this river flow into the faucet of Hong Kong compatriots, so that this water of life, politics and economy is full of the deep affection of the motherland and nourishes millions of compatriots in Hong Kong. All the staff were deeply moved by the struggle story behind the Dongshen Water Supply Project, and were also inspired by the spirit of the builders of the Dongshen Water Supply Project.
Subsequently, the representatives of water source protection workers came to the video room to watch the documentary of the Dongshen Water Supply Project, and visited the central control room of the Jinhu Pumping Station, the pumping station of the Jinhu Pumping Station, the inlet canal of the Jinhu Pumping Station and other facilities, and deepened the understanding of the drinking water source and the Dongshen Water Supply Project. The representative of the water source protection workers who participated in the event said: "Today's visit and study made me feel deeply, further understand the historical origin of the Dongshen Water Supply Project, and strengthen my determination to protect the source of drinking water. ”
