In order to further strengthen the school's awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation, master the basic earthquake prevention knowledge and skills, and improve the self-rescue ability of teachers, students and children and the comprehensive ability to respond to emergencies, on May 11, Manshuihe Town Central School and Kindergarten actively organized campus earthquake prevention and disaster reduction safety drills. The event was presided over by Wu Dayang, director of the Political and Educational Office, and Comrade Nie Yixing, Commissioner of Town and Rural Revitalization, was invited to observe and guide the school.
In order to ensure the safe and effective development of the drill activities, each school and park has formulated a detailed drill plan according to the actual situation, and Yang Xin, secretary of the Party branch and principal of the central school, organized a work meeting to arrange the activities, and clarified the evacuation route, safety discipline and the specific responsibilities of teachers.
At 9:30 a.m., the alarm sounded throughout the school, and the students and children who were in class quickly and orderly burrowed under their desks, took a cover position, and covered their heads with books and other items to minimize possible injuries. Soon, after the second alarm sounded, the teacher immediately organized the students to cover their heads with their hands and evacuate quickly and orderly according to the predetermined route. In 1 minute and 20 seconds, more than 300 teachers, students and children in the school were evacuated to the open area in front of the teaching building.
After the teachers, students and children gathered safely, the heads of each school and kindergarten sorted out and summarized the activities. Li Shaofang, the principal of the kindergarten, reminded the children to know the precautions and correct escape methods when the earthquake comes; Ye Qibin, vice principal of the central school, highlighted the significance of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and reminded all teachers and students to improve safety awareness.
At the end of the event, Commissioner Nie summarized and commented on the drill process, fully affirmed the performance of teachers and students in the drill process, and put forward opinions and suggestions on scientific evacuation methods.
It is reported that the school and the park have always attached great importance to campus safety work, and included earthquake prevention and disaster reduction emergency evacuation drills and fire evacuation drills in the school's routine work, carefully prepared and seriously organized, and strived to improve the ability to resist and respond to emergencies through normalized and standardized drills, so as to create a safe campus and escort the lives and health of teachers, students and children.
