Science and technology help environmental protection to create a new benchmark for cleaner production

Yanchang County is located in the hinterland of the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi and the west bank of the Yellow River. It has a long history and abundant products, and is the location of China's first onshore oil well, as well as the world's best eugenic area for melons and fruits, known as the "mother of oil, the hometown of melons and fruits, and the home of food".

Oilfield Gas & Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. is an important project of Yanchang Petroleum Group to optimize the industrial layout, improve the industrial energy level, and promote the extension of the fine chemical industry chain, and is also a scientific and technological demonstration project of green and low-carbon, circular economy, and comprehensive and efficient utilization of resources.

It is reported that the sewage upgrading and transformation project plans to build a new 80m3/h carbon black sewage pretreatment unit, a 4m3/h PT pretreatment unit, a 10,000m3 accident buffer tank and supporting facilities, and a 210m3/h advanced treatment unit and supporting facilities. The new treatment scale is 80m3/h sodium sulfide dosing unit of BOD detachant wastewater to remove excessive copper ions in BOD detachant wastewater, and the new sodium carbonate dosing device with a treatment scale of 700m3/h high-density clarifier is used for the hardening of high-density clarifier of the existing water reuse station and ancillary public works. The estimated cost of the project feasibility study approval is 93.8362 million yuan.

Yang Gaimei, chief of the Ecological Restoration Section of Yanchang County Forestry Bureau, said that the total construction scale of the degraded ecosystem restoration and soil erosion comprehensive management project in northern Shaanxi (referred to as the "dual" project in 2023) is 115,000 mu, including 25,000 mu of artificial afforestation, 30,000 mu of degraded forest restoration, and 60,000 mu of mountain closure and afforestation, with a total investment of 48 million yuan, which is uniformly implemented by the Yan'an Forestry Bureau. The project involves 1,853 small classes in 25 administrative villages in 5 towns and streets, including Qili Village Street, Zhengzhuang Town, Luozishan Town, Leichi Town, and Angou Town, Yanchang County, which will start construction on March 15, 2024 and is expected to be fully completed by May 1.

The project is divided into three modes: artificial afforestation, degraded forest restoration, and mountain closure and afforestation, and three restoration methods are used to restore degraded forests: "replanting + site clearing, replanting + thinning + site clearing and thinning". At present, 24,000 acres of artificial afforestation, 26,000 acres of degraded forests have been restored, and 50,000 acres of mountains have been closed for afforestation. After the completion of the project, it will further expand the green territory of Yanchang County, improve the quality of forest stands, improve the management and protection of forest and grass resources and the level of soil erosion control, and lay a solid foundation for winning the battle of "several bays" of the Yellow River.
