Hello fellow commanders, I'm Anabel and Cardo. Earlier, I informed you about a new level 8 gold coin heavy tank 701 project made by the WG tank group, this guy is a prototype of the IS-4, and in version 1.24.1 it got some new modifications, so I'll show you today.

The historical description written for it by the WG tank group is as follows:
- "The tank originated from the self-developed project of the Design Bureau of the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant, and the development of the tank continued from July 1943 to 1944. In April 1944, the first prototype of Project 701 (Car 0) was built and subjected to maneuver tests, revealing a number of flaws in the tank design. Two more prototypes, No. 1 and No. 2, were produced in May-June of the same year, and field tests were carried out in July-August, before they were finally disassembled in September. Their hulls and turrets were later used in the construction of prototypes 5 and 6. ”
In fact, the 701 project is the prototype of the IS-4, and the K-2 that joined the game before is the predecessor of the 701 project, they are the real ancestors and grandchildren, but the K-2 is more different from the 701 and IS-4. The K-2 was a project secretly developed by Dukhov in the summer of 1943 at the Kirov factory in Chelyabinsk (codenamed K Tank), Dukhov believed that the Red Army needed a heavy tank that surpassed the "Tiger" and could also suppress Germany in the future, so he secretly designed this tank within the factory area. In the spring of 1944, the K tank was "turned positive" into the design of Project 701, and then it began to be designed "in the bright light", and then Project 701 evolved into the IS-4.
This firepower is really not interesting

From the data level, the performance of Project 701 is relatively close to that of its predecessor, the K-2, which is also at level 8 and is both S-series gold coin-heavy tanks. In the latest changes, its firepower has been reduced: the silver coin bullet has been changed from 221 piercing APCR to 203 piercing AP (even taking into account the positive conversion, the equivalent piercing depth is still lowered), the DPM has dropped by 200, and it now takes nearly 15 seconds to load a 390 shot. Considering that it has poor gun accuracy and aiming time, it is very sad, the tank's gun triple expansion coefficient is quite poor, and more importantly, it only has a depression angle of 5°. It can be said that the firepower of Project 701 is very poor, it is at the same level as K-2, and it is still at the bottom of the 8-level heavy tank, which is maddening.
The scalp is large, only 30 mm thick
The armor model of Project 701 has also undergone some changes, but it is still a bit odd to defend itself. The two hatches above the head are still 140 mm weak points, and the oversized scalp in the front half of the turret top is 30 mm, which is too miserable and can be easily crushed by the enemy. The bulge on the cheeks of the turret has been thickened to 240 mm, and the equivalent on the sides of the gun shield is about 250 mm, which is an increase from before. The three pieces of armor on the head and shoulders on both sides of the hull are still 120 mm (compared to 160 for the K-2), and there are problems with how to swing the angle, but the head of the hull is 160 mm, and with a large angle, it should be able to deceive some shells. The body + guide wheel side 160 mm is quite good, if there is a cover in front, and then at a large angle to the enemy, it is no problem to cheat the gun to carry the damage, but play like this, be careful not to expose your shoulders to the enemy or the angle is too large. The tank's mobility, vision, and other parts are not bright, and even perform poorly, making it of little interest.
I don't know what the purpose of making it is
Because of this, my evaluation of this 701 project is... Usually. In the current game environment, its 8 gold, which has no work, really can't stir up a little wave, not to mention that the data is very poor except for a little hardness. The K-2, which has much better defense than it, has not become a mainstream tank, so this 701 project is even less likely to stand out. I really don't understand why the WG tank group put it in, and what kind of event might it be as a reward car?Please note that all my comments above are based on the current WG test data scheme on March 24, 2024, and may change in the future.
