With a total length of about 22.13 kilometers, the Tianshan Shengli Tunnel is the world's longest highway tunnel under construction, and the travel time between Urumqi in the north of the Tianshan Mountains and Yuli County in the south of the Tianshan Mountains will be reduced from the current seven hours to three hours. The tunnel traverses the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains, and the geological conditions are complex, and it is also the most difficult and critical project of the Wuwei Expressway.
According to the characteristics of the tunnel, the construction party tailored the "three-hole" construction plan for the left and right driving double main tunnels and the middle guide tunnel, so as to achieve "long tunnel and ultra-short play".
In the pilot tunnel of the Shengli Tunnel in the Tianshan Mountains of Xinjiang, the reporter saw the Shengli TBM hard rock boring machine, which workers like to jokingly call "giant steel pangolin". It is 282 meters long, longer than the length of 10 basketball courts, weighs 2,900 tons, has 58 hobs for digging holes, and the excavation diameter is 8.43 meters.
According to the construction party, without this equipment, according to the traditional method of blasting and drilling, you can only advance 3 to 5 meters a day in this area, and it may take 8 to 10 years to complete the tunnel. It can now advance an average of 15 to 20 meters a day, with a maximum of 33.16 meters per day.
Yang Chengjian, a 33-year-old operator of the Victory TBM, has been involved in many major projects for eight years. This year is Yang Chengjian's fourth year of working in the Tianshan Shengli Tunnel, a table, a chair, a few screens, a number of buttons, a dispatch phone, and a radio phone make up his daily routine.
Since the TBM entered the tunnel, Yang Chengjian has been "cat" in this main control room of less than 10 square meters every day, and he has no concept of day and night.
Gao Yanyao, 35, is a technician in the project's tunnel team and has been working on tunnel construction for 12 years. From the quality of the drill hole, the spacing of the blast hole to the distribution of the drug dose, each link must be highly concentrated to ensure absolute safety.
