Pu Songling rarely goes out and has a deep relationship with his wife, so why does he say that he has an "affair"?

author:Lao Wang's history gossip

"Liaozhai Zhiyi" is a collection of short stories and strange novels in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and its author Pu Songling, known as "Mr. Liaozhai".

In recent years, various film and television works about "Liaozhai Zhiyi" have also been put on the big screen and received countless praises.

For example, Ning Caichen and Nie Xiaoqian, these two roles are from the chapter of "Nie Xiaoqian" in "Liaozhai Zhiyi".

"Liaozhai Zhiyi" is clearly depicting gods and ghosts and foxes, but secretly, it is Mr. Pu Songling who wants to use the mythical novel to attack the rotten and dark official environment at that time.

Pu Songling rarely goes out and has a deep relationship with his wife, so why does he say that he has an "affair"?

However, Pu Songling was poor all his life, and rarely went out, and he and his wife Liu Shi had been in love for many years, and they spent a hard time together, and the two had a deep feeling.

Although Pu Songling is very knowledgeable, he has no savings, and rarely deals with other women, and mr. Liaozhai is emotionally like a blank piece of paper, and seems to be very proficient in the private affairs of some children's love.

Therefore, why is it that in "Liaozhai Zhiyi", there are many bridges about "extramarital affairs".

Are these bridges made up by Pu Songling, or do they have other hidden secrets that are not known?

Pu Songling was born in 1640, a native of Zichuan, Jinan Province.

At the age of 19, Pu Songling took the exam for the first time and got very good results.

Since then, Pu Songling has taken the exam three times in a row, and each time he has won the first place, and many celebrities have praised Pu Songling's article, believing that he will be a rising star in the literary world.

When Pu Songling was 25 years old, his eldest brother suddenly died of illness, leaving the four brothers to divide up the family's field property, while Pu Songling only had "three old farmhouses on the farm and four walls in the open house".

Due to the poor living conditions, Pu Songling did not have the money to continue to go to Beijing to catch the examination, and could only rely on the fame he had accumulated before to go to the landlord's house to teach.

When Pu Songling was 18 years old, he was already married to a woman surnamed Liu in the same village, and gave birth to his eldest son, Pu Zhensheng.

At the age of 26, Pu Songling was invited by a landlord in Zichuan Wang Village and began to embark on a teaching career.

In 1670, Pu Songling, who had just passed by, came to Baoying, Jiangsu Province, as an aide to his friend Sun Hui, and a year later, Pu Songling returned to his hometown in Zichuan and never left Zichuan until his death.

It is worth mentioning that in the fifty years of the Kangxi Dynasty (1711 AD), the 72-year-old Pu Songling became a "year gongsheng" and barely won a consolation award.

Pu Songling rarely goes out and has a deep relationship with his wife, so why does he say that he has an "affair"?

It is not difficult to see from Pu Songling's resume that in addition to leaving his hometown to serve as a staff member at the age of 30. The rest of the time, Pu Songling went to various main homes to sit in the library as a teacher.

But why did Pu Songling, who had been out of the door, write such a direct and penetrating "Liaozhai Zhiyi" that was so direct to people's hearts and was separated from countless loves and hates?

It turned out that when Pu Songling was 40 years old, he went to the home of a good friend named Bi Jiyou to sit in the restaurant. Bi Jiyou was a well-known local landlord and rich family in Zichuan, who admired Pu Songling's knowledge.

Pu Songling has been staying in Bijiyou for 30 years, and in these 30 years, Pu Songling has a stable income and solved the problem of food and clothing.

Pu Songling rarely goes out and has a deep relationship with his wife, so why does he say that he has an "affair"?

Instead, the Bi family has a large number of books, some of which are even "forbidden books" handed down at the end of the Ming Dynasty. Through decades of study and repeated polishing of pen and ink, Pu Songling wrote a masterpiece of the world, which is also "Liaozhai Zhiyi".

Perhaps speaking of this, many friends will feel strange: if Pu Songling wrote "Liaozhai Zhiyi" based on the books in Bi Jiyou's family.

However, why are many chapters of "Liaozhai Zhiyi" filled with a large number of "extramarital affairs", which is also recorded in the collection?

This is not the case, most of the "extramarital affairs" in "Liaozhai Zhiyi" are after the students enter beijing to catch the exam or get ahead, accidentally meet the woman who is transformed by the fox fairy, and the two have a dewy love affair.

However, most of these students already have wives.

Pu Songling rarely goes out and has a deep relationship with his wife, so why does he say that he has an "affair"?

According to later speculations, during Pu Songling's tenure as Sun Hui's staff, he should have met a confidant with a red face.

It is rumored that Sun Hui was in Baoyingzhi County, Jiangsu Province at that time, and because Baoying was the hometown of fish and rice, Sun Hui was the first to get the moon near the water tower, constantly scavenging the people's fat and people's ointment, filling his own pockets, and also raising several wives.

Sun Hui's little wife was quite literate, and during the period when they and Pu Songling made friends with literature, some inexplicable things happened during the period when the two discussed literature with each other.

Therefore, Pu Songling came to Baoying, Jiangsu Province, only one year ago, and returned to Zichuan in a gray and slippery way.

Even when Sun Hui later held an important position, Pu Songling also wrote a "Letter of Advice from The Elder Sun".

The general content is that Pu Songling ridiculed Sun Hui as a bully landlord, and the slaves in the family were bullying people, and if they did not rein in, they would definitely be unlucky in the future.

It can be seen that Pu Songling and Sun Hui were originally close friends, but they did not know why, and suddenly the relationship turned straight, and even Pu Songling was very unaccustomed to Sun Hui.

Pu Songling rarely goes out and has a deep relationship with his wife, so why does he say that he has an "affair"?

Later generations speculated that perhaps Sun Hui discovered that Pu Songling had something to do with the concubine and drove him back to Zichuan before he befriended Pu Songling.

Of course, this is just anecdotal and not true.

According to the author's judgment, although Pu Songling has always lived in his hometown in Zichuan, he has never been far away.

However, because he had been reading poetry since childhood, he could also be regarded as a short-lived upper class, so Pu Songling saw the darkness of the officialdom and human nature.

So he put all of his insights in "Liaozhai Zhiyi". As for the claim that Pu Songling had relations with other women and abandoned his wife, this statement is untenable.

However, although "Liaozhai Zhiyi" is a literary text, there are many chapters worth reading repeatedly. Pu Songling did not win any meritorious titles, but because of his solid writing, he dared to write straight. Therefore, there are many in the "Liaozhai Zhiyi", the last years of the Ming Dynasty and the early years of the Qing Dynasty, Shandong, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and other areas, the real life of the people.
