The company named the WeChat group "Dream Class",
From the basement to the sixth year of entrepreneurship,
Finally moved the office to No. 8 Hengshan Road.
At that difficult point in time in 2022,
The "Dream Class" did not stop,
Still taking it one step at a time to achieve what you want.
So, what kind of place is their dream office?
Designer's office
How can it be just an office?
Give a group of people who are willing to think and toss a chance to be Party A by themselves, if you don't cherish it, it can almost be said to be a disappointment. We had envisioned a garden bungalow office, and when standing in this renovated campus tucked away behind plane trees, we saw the possibility of creating an open and active ecosystem.
The new office carries many of KWSD's ideas, first of all, it must not be just an office, but it should be flexible and inspired, can be used as a design practice, and can embrace life. We have always believed that only by living well can we design well. We want to live well here, to design well.
From the bar area on the second floor to the office area on the third floor, we have divided the space layout of the new office into four areas: a garden close to natural life, a bar where friends and family gather, an office dedicated to work, and a small living room for thinking and relaxing.
KWSD's lifestyle practice unfolds in a series of unique scenes: from the plaza's spiral staircase to the second floor, you will find a café-bar area with a garden terrace, and on the third floor, you will find an open office area and a multi-purpose living room.

Make it feel like home
The project was designed in early 2022 and was completed in late summer and early autumn after more than two months of having to stay at home in the spring. This special period has undoubtedly brought different impacts and feelings to everyone. Returning to the space itself, while experiencing all kinds of inconveniences and troubles, the relaxed state of home also makes us rethink what kind of office atmosphere is more suitable to stimulate everyone's work inspiration and enthusiasm.
The design of "home" is undoubtedly an important part of KWSD. What is the feeling of home? This question extends from our luxury home design to office design, and we want to make the office feel like home. Home, on the other hand, is a container that carries the owner's personality and lifestyle. All the beings inside are like people.
KWSD's lifestyle includes design, materials, artwork, coffee, wine, and many other things that need to be placed in the right scale and temperature, just like the life scenes in past design cases.
Therefore, in the "new home" of the office, the work life of the day is like this: start the day with a cup of coffee in the morning, discuss the plan in the café or conference room in the afternoon, you can see guests coming to check in and take pictures and be curious about each other, the night bar is suitable for solo drinks or gatherings, and you can also share designs while drinking wine in the living room.
It is a process of transforming from life experience and insight to spatial strategy and design practice, and then to life. Time flows through the space, leaving a fulfilling and interesting time.
Bow down and get in
KWSD is a team that is good at dealing with complex spatial problems. Starting from strategic thinking, from the actual experience, exploration and reflection of lifestyle, we have established a set of practice system for spatial logic, project value and design aesthetics.
Experience and practice push us to explore the relationship between things inside rather than on the surface, and to gain more sensitive and accurate project insights to dig deeper into the potential value of design. Therefore, as a practice base, the shaping of the lifestyle and space operation mode of the No. 8 Hengshan Road project is a deeper interactive process for the team's design cognition, and the experience and practical experience are also fed back into the props and product design.
Every combination of wine and coffee beans in the lounge has been tried and carefully selected by the designer, and the furniture, bar and props are also designed and developed by the team themselves. The design process incorporated the idea of being a bar customer, a barista, and a bartender, and finally realized it from the perspective of the operator through space and objects.
The design adopts a large number of prototype elements and modularity to meet the needs of spatial diversity, make the connection between complex elements orderly and controllable, and provide a template for future design research and development of the firm.

From 2022 to 2023, we didn't start putting together this article until a year later, largely because project practice is a process of positive feedback and interactive iteration.
In this year, the company's designers have learned to make their own coffee, and grasp the work and life of Zhang Chi in the rhythm of the relaxed space. Of course, in the process of operation and use, we also encountered some details that need to be rethought and adjusted. Now, we've added façade light boxes facing the campus plaza and are recently planning to update the terrace tables, chairs and flower boxes to be more open and open to more customers.
The practice of the new office is an important node in our growth process, and for a long time to come, we hope that the integration of knowledge and action will continue to be the team's consistent way of doing things, and continue our design and life step by step.
