Ship design company C-Job has launched a new series of suction dredgers (CSD), which is said to be a new self-propelled suction dredger concept.
It is reported that this 34-inch self-propelled suction dredger has a suction power of 3500 horsepower and a total installed power of about 26000 horsepower. The ship's deck is equipped with two 6300 hp dredging pumps, and a 3500 hp underwater dredging pump on the winch ladder, giving the vessel a maximum dredging depth of up to 95 feet.
The new captain is 296 feet long, and can also be extended to provide a greater swing width.

According to reports, this series of suction dredgers represents a medium-sized suction dredger solution, which has a diameter of 20-40 inches and a total installed power of up to 30,000 horsepower. Owners can custom-design the series of dredgers, with options ranging from self-propelled or stationary services and other specialist dredging units.
In terms of fuel selection, in addition to the standard system design, new vessels can include renewable marine fuels such as methanol or a combination of dual-fuel propulsion.
