At the age of nine, he lost his grandfather's protection; A few years later, his father also left him, and the Du family gradually declined. Du Mu was once displaced and homeless, and he sighed in "The Prime Minister Seeks the Second Enlightenment of Huzhou": "A young orphan and poor, running through hardship, having nothing to shelter, and returning to the private temple of Yanfu." ”

However, fate always seems to be joking, Tang Jingzong, the king who should have insight into everything, failed to get a glimpse of the crisis of the Tang Dynasty from this eloquent article. In the end, let the tragedy of history repeat itself, it is really "posterity mourns but does not learn from it, and also makes posterity mourn posterity". However, the world is so big that there are no surprises. During a visit, Du Mu met a monk who did not react to his name, as if his reputation was still just a tiny speck of dust in the vast world. Du Mu couldn't help but feel a little helpless, but he was not discouraged. He knows that fame is just a passing moment, and true talent and character are eternal.
So, he took this opportunity to write a poem full of Zen with a pen. His talent and tenacity are like the pine trees that stand in the wind and rain, no matter what the environment, they can stand proudly and show their unique vitality. One day, Du Mu and two friends of the same department walked in the southern suburbs of the city, bathed in the embrace of nature, and felt the atmosphere of tranquility and harmony. They stumbled upon a temple that was quaint and solemn and complemented by the surrounding natural scenery.
Walking into the temple, they found an old monk meditating in a corner. Dressed in a simple monk's robe, he sits quietly like a mountain, like an ancient tree, guarding this pure land. His eyes are deep and bright, as if he can perceive all the prosperity and vanity of the world. Seeing Du Mu and the others, the old monk didn't say much, but just smiled and signaled.
Du Mu and others were attracted by the old monk's Zen and walked over to talk to him. The old monk's words are full of Zen, and every sentence shines like a pearl with profound philosophy. They listened to it with fascination, as if they were in a misty fairyland, feeling the cleansing and sublimation of their souls.
When parting, the old monk asked Du Mu's name. Du Mu's friends laughed jokingly: "The master is really eyeless, even our Jinshi Du Mu, who wrote "A Fang Gongfu" and was promoted this year, doesn't know him. After hearing this, the old monk smiled slightly and said, "It's a pity that I don't know. This sentence was like a breeze blowing through Du Mu's heart, making him instantly understand the profundity and breadth of Zen.
He gave the old monk a deep look, then turned to leave. When he returned home, the stirring emotions in his heart turned into words, flowing on the tip of the pen, and he wrote the poem "Gift to the Monk of Nanlan".

North Que Nanshan is the hometown, and the two branches of cinnamon are fragrant for a while.
