When public officials are rejected on blind dates, where does the "self-confidence" of superiority come from?

summary

Zhongqing Review

It is necessary to eliminate the soil for survival of "official-based" thinking from the root and ensure that no one can be "superior."

Recently, Guiyang City public official Wang Mou passively appeared on the Internet hot search because of his bad words during the blind date process. In the WeChat chat, he first sent a very unseemly and uncomfortable "pursuit signal" to the blind date, and after being rejected by the woman, he changed his tone and began to talk about his professional status, as if he could be superior as a public official. Seeing that the woman did not buy into herself, Wang not only boasted that "it is your blessing to be able to find political cadres like ours who are free from pressure and have a relaxed and happy life in the city", but also showed off that the newly recruited highly educated female colleagues in the unit have to "start with running errands for us", and even claimed that "you people can become the dishes of this part of our city, and it depends on the moment when we open the green channel."

These words uttered by Wang were not commensurate with his cadre status. Just looking at his speech, others may really treat him as some kind of "privileged person". However, the woman who went on a blind date with Wang was not bluffed by these words, but "dashingly" rejected him and exposed his funny remarks. Without this unexpected "Internet celebrity experience", I don't know how long he will "feel good about himself". On February 22, a relevant person in charge of the Huaxi District Statistics Bureau in Guiyang City confirmed to polar news reporters that there was indeed a male public official Wang Moumou in the bureau, and the unit had intervened in the matter, and the results of the investigation would be announced to the public as soon as possible.

Compared with Wang's imaginary self, he may not have so much "energy" in reality. But looking deeper, we can't simply laugh it off at the thinking behind Wang's remarks. From the perspective of professional ethics, public officials should abide by their duties, have a clear understanding of their duties and identities, and should not act rashly; From the point of view of political ethics, public officials are public servants of the people, and they should take "serving the people" as their own responsibility, and there is absolutely no reason to ride on the heads of the people in turn.

In the final analysis, the cognition reflected in Wang's remarks has not come out of the pre-modern value system, and he believes that since he is an "official", he is naturally higher than the "people". At the same time, he believes that if he becomes a cadre, he can lie down early and "get rid of pressure and be relaxed and happy", which also reflects his small pattern and short-sightedness.

Just a few chat records reflect the image of a cadre with problems with moral character and comprehensive literacy. This not only provided an investigation clue for Wang's unit, but also reminded the society to pay close attention to the ideology and conviction of the cadre team. For cadres who have similar ideas to Wang, the higher-level authorities should also find out the root cause of the disease that caused their "expansion", punish the former and the latter, and treat the disease and save people. As for those who repeatedly do not change, they will be punished when they should be punished, and those who should be purged will be eliminated. Before some cadres were promoted, they were tainted with an "official spirit" and were full of "official-based" thinking. If they do sit in a higher administrative position one day, I am afraid that it will only make a big mistake.

Judging from past news, the "official-based" thinking of some cadres may be exposed anytime and anywhere. Coincidentally, the protagonist of another recent officialdom news story has a similar problem. On February 21, Guo Moumou, director of the Urban Reform Office of the Jiaozuo City Urban and Rural Integration Demonstration Zone in Henan Province, was dismissed for posting indecent information in the work group, and Zhang Moumou, the deputy director suspected of having an improper relationship with him, was also dismissed. In the message sent by Guo Moumou, there are expressions such as "we join hands with the whole district project is ours", "I have already proposed a sub-department to you, I am a department, we will also mention the deputy county in the future" and so on.

To some extent, Guo's self-absorbed statements about the level and power of the two are more noteworthy and intriguing than the content involving the cheating of the two. In the entire civil service system, leading cadres at the section and deputy section levels are only the end of the public power system, but they are enough to give people such a strong "self-confidence". Compared with boasting in front of blind dates, the idea that "we join hands on the whole district project is ours" undoubtedly has greater practical harm.

The "official-based" speech of some small cadres sounds ridiculous at first glance, but the more we think about it, the more difficult it is for us to laugh. To solve such problems, it is not enough to investigate and punish cadres who have inappropriate words and deeds. Only by ensuring that no one can rely on the power in their hands to obtain the treatment they do not deserve and seek illegal benefits can we eliminate the survival soil of "official-based" thinking from the root and ensure that no one can be "superior".
