A diver was working underwater when suddenly, a great white shark swam from behind and opened its mouth open to him! I thought that the divers were fierce and lucky, but I didn't expect that the next scene was a big surprise. I saw the great white shark touch the diver's head with its chin, and then swam away without incident! What's going on here? #精彩的生物圈 #

When people think of great white sharks, words such as "murderous, terrifying, bloodthirsty" must immediately come to mind. In addition, the rendering of the terrifying image of the great white shark in various film and television programs has also made it the most terrifying sea creature in people's minds.

After all, the scientific name of the great white shark is the famous "man-eating shark". They are about 6 meters long and weigh 2-3 tons, and their huge size is daunting, especially the sharp teeth of the triangular zigzag shape like a meat cutter, which makes people's scalp numb and frightened.

However, although it has always been regarded as a fearsome man-eating beast, there is one statistic that you may not believe. There are only about 10 incidents of great white sharks attacking humans every year in the world, and the number of people killed by great white sharks is even less. In contrast, the number of people who die from box jellyfish stingers every year is as high as 100, and in the Philippines alone, dozens of people die every year.

What's even more surprising is that if you realize that the opposite side is a human, the great white shark is likely not to take the initiative to attack. Because humans are not on the great white shark menu at all.

Why?

Because great white sharks must swim constantly to survive, they need to eat a lot of fatty foods and quickly convert them into energy. Therefore, seals, sea lions, and walruses with high fat content are the favorite delicacy of sharks. And the human fat content is too small, which is really not suitable for the appetite of great white sharks.

So why do great white sharks need to swim all the time?

There are two reasons.

First, the great white shark uses a "simple and crude" "percussion ventilation" method to breathe, and must breathe water while swimming and then filter it through the gill slits to obtain oxygen. So once they stop swimming, they will really be strangled.

Second, great white sharks are cartilaginous fish that do not have swim bladders, and once they stop swimming, they sink to the bottom of the sea.

So if humans aren't on the menu of great white sharks, why do they sometimes attack humans? In fact, great white sharks attacking humans may often be just a misunderstanding.

According to researchers, there have been records of great white sharks attacking humans, mostly in two cases.

One is to attack fishermen. This is because great white sharks are very sensitive to the smell of blood, and caught fish can easily attract the attention of great white sharks once they bleed, and hungry great white sharks will mistake fishermen present for prey.

The other is to attack surfing enthusiasts. That's because from the bottom of the sea, people and surfboards cast shadows very close to seals, sea lions or turtles, the main prey of great white sharks. And great white sharks are accustomed to ambushing on the bottom of the sea, launching surprise attacks vertically upwards. Even if you admit your mistake, it will be difficult to brake the car.

In addition, some researchers believe that the great white shark has a tactile-like mechanical sensory structure in its teeth that can help it distinguish what it has bitten. Therefore, great white sharks often "taste" the unknown out of curiosity. However, even if it is "tasted", it is not something that thin people can bear.

But in any case, for the diver mentioned at the beginning of the article, this is enough to remember a frightening moment for a lifetime. After all, "close contact" with such a huge great white shark underwater without injury is enough to blow for a lifetime.
