Napoleon Bonaparte was primarily known for his military and political achievements, but his achievements in his personal life are little known. The French Emperor successfully went through two marriages, but only once brought him the ideal heir—he was born in 1811 by his second wife, Grand Duke Maria Louise of Austria. Admittedly, Napoleon never communicated with his son, Francois Joseph Charles, but nevertheless, he knew of his noble origins and was proud of him. He never had a chance to become emperor – after moving to Vienna with his mother, he was eventually forced to settle for the title of Duke of Germany. Despite this, the French Bonapartists wanted him to return, but did not grow together – in 1832, Kitty (the nickname of Napoleon's son) died of tuberculosis.
In addition to his legal heirs, Bonaparte had two illegitimate sons— Charles Leon, born in 1806 in Eleanor Deluen de la Plaigne, and Alexander Florian Joseph Walevsky, whose mother was Maria, a Polish noblewoman Walewska）。 The first "became famous" only because of his shameful adventures, waste, and huge debts, but the second showed himself to be more valuable — he was educated in Geneva and became a famous diplomat after moving to France. After Napoleon III came to power, his career flourished – Alexander became a count and even served as foreign minister for a time.
