On the eve of last year's Guangzhou Auto Show, Lantu's first MPV model, the Lantu Dreamer, was officially unveiled. At the beginning of last month, Lantu Dreamer officially opened pre-sale, releasing a pre-sale price range of 380,000-480,000 yuan for the 7-seat version and 600,000 yuan for the 4-seat version. Just last night, Lantu Dreamer finally ushered in the official listing, the seven-seat version is priced at 369,900 yuan -439,900 yuan, and the four-seat private customized version is priced from 639,900 yuan, take a look at the basic information:

Lantu Dreamer includes 4 configuration versions including dream, think, home, and private customization, and 8 models composed of 2 power modes including low-carbon version (intelligent multi-mode drive) and 0 carbon version (high-performance pure electricity);

The price of the two power modes in the same configuration version is the same;

The intelligent multi-mode drive version has a cruising range of 750km under WLTC conditions;

The electric version of the standard endurance version has a cruising range of 475km under CLTC conditions;

Pure electric standard endurance version + 50,000 yuan upgrade to long battery life version, the CRUIC operating range is 605km;

Let's first take a look at the product strength of Lantu Dreamer? What are its advantages and disadvantages? Let's take a look at our test drive video first:

Compared with several popular models I have experienced: Toyota Alpha, Toyota Senna, Buick GL8 Evia, Mercedes-Benz V260L, they all have their own more obvious characteristics or labels, but also have more obvious shortcomings.

However, after the GL8 has long been used as a connecting vehicle for business travel, it has also carried the label of "commercial vehicle", especially the GL8 Evia, which creates a sense of luxury.

At the same time, the lack of power is also the shortcoming of the Buick GL8 Evia. Moreover, the price of 463,900 yuan is also far more than the 7-seat version of Lantu Dreamer.

The shortcomings of the Mercedes-Benz V260L are somewhat similar to the Toyota Alpha, both of which are inconvenient to enter and exit in the third row. The Mercedes-Benz V260L is also equipped with air suspension, which has been improved in comfort to a certain extent.

But the Mercedes-Benz V260L impressed me most was the shape and price, and the high and long shape made the Mercedes-Benz V260L look too much like a truck, and the starting price of 610,000 yuan was not low.

But......

Lantu Dreamer seems to make up for the shortcomings that appear on other MPV models, such as: not smart, not easy to drive, not good to look at, uncomfortable, not big enough, not safe... The Lantu Dreamers seem to be doing a very comprehensive job, but they do not give us enough obvious characteristics.

The price was expected

Compared with the pre-price of 380,000-480,000 yuan announced by Lantu Dreamer, the price of the officially listed Lantu Dreamer 7-seat version has been reduced, the starting price has been reduced by about 10,000 yuan, and the top model has been lowered by about 40,000 yuan.

The 7-seat version is also the version for the travel needs of most ordinary consumers.

The price of the 4-seat private customized model of Lantu Dreamer has been raised by about 40,000 yuan compared with the pre-price, but this is not something that most ordinary consumers should worry about, after all, the 4-seat version of the model is still for "business travel" and "business reception".

In fact, the listing price is lower than the pre-sale price is a correct choice, and many brands are also doing this.

The 7-seat version of the model was lowered by 10,000-40,000 yuan, giving the first batch of pre-sale users a "reassuring pill", while Lantu Dreamer also gave 1-2 million yuan of limited-time rights and interests to seven-seater users, which further consolidated the first batch of pre-sale orders in Lantu's hands.

Pre-sale orders "one-sided"?

Since the official debut of Lantu Dreamer last year, yesterday's listing is the first time that Lantu Dreamer has announced its endurance.

The intelligent multi-mode drive version has a cruising range of 750km under WLTC conditions, although there are now range extender models that break the thousand-endurance at every turn, but for a medium-sized and large-scale new energy MPV model with a maintenance quality of more than 2.5 tons, the comprehensive mileage of 750km is also reasonable.

However, for many consumers who have to choose pure electric models due to license plate policies.

The standard endurance version of the Lantu Dreamer Pure Electric Edition has a cruising range of 475km under CLTC conditions, and the scenes of commuting, picking up and dropping off children, and picking up and dropping off the elderly in the urban area are enough, but if the whole family travels under full load, the endurance of CLTC 475km in high-speed scenarios I think may be discounted.

Therefore, if there is a need for the whole family to go far away, and you can only buy a pure electric version, you must add 50,000 yuan to upgrade to the long-endurance version, so that the 605km cruising range under CLTC conditions will be more relaxed.

Therefore, compared with models with different configurations and different power modes, this part of the user needs to spend 50,000 yuan more than the purchase of the extended range version and the pure electric standard endurance version.

Therefore, from the Lantu Dreamer, we can also see a problem: can pure electric MPVs enter the mainstream market?

I think: yes, but hard.

The body structure and demand for MPV models have led to the inability to polish a very low wind resistance coefficient like cars and SUVs.

At the same time, taking the Lantu Dreamer as an example, an MPV model with a curb weight of 2.5 tons and a car scene that often involves full loads, the most efficient and fast way to improve the endurance is to "stack the battery", and the Lantu Dreamer also does this. However, the problem is the high cost of car purchase.

I also tried to choose it in the Lantu Mini Program:

Lantu Dreamer provides 6 kinds of car paints and 2 kinds of interior colors, all free to choose;

The optional package of the intelligent multi-mode drive version provides the smart driving package and the smart enjoyment package, because of the limited time rights, the optional package is all discounted by 20,000 yuan.

That is to say, at present, it is possible to upgrade from the "Home" series to the "Think" series for free, and add auxiliary driving systems. And can upgrade the "Dream" series that originally needed to add 70,000 yuan at a price of 50,000 yuan, adding air suspension, CDC magic carpet, Danner audio, night vision system and advanced driver assistance system;

Then let's take a look at the pure electric version, the pure electric version provides a smart driving package, a smart ride package and a life package, and the smart driving package and the smart multi-mode drive version are exactly the same, but the endurance package cannot use the 20,000 yuan of rights.

The reason is estimated to be because the cost of power batteries has recently increased sharply.

It is precisely for this reason that in addition to cities such as Beijing that are limited to numbers and license plates, and at the same time, the extended-range models and plug-in models are also limited to new energy licenses, many consumers in other cities have turned their attention to the intelligent multi-mode drive version.

It is undeniable that with the continuous transformation of the concept of using cars and even the opening up of the two/three tire policy, consumers' demand for MPV has become more and more intense. As a result, more and more car companies have incorporated MPV models into their strategic layout, including ideal, extreme krypton and other brands have begun to develop MPV models.

Boldly speculate that the 400,000-yuan new energy MPV may be a new battlefield for car companies to "fight" each other in the next few years.

In today's new energy MPV market, there are not many luxury and high-end models, and Lantu Dreamers have taken the lead in breaking into this "blue ocean". Perhaps, its emergence will affect the decision-making and route of other brands in the future.
