The problem of this issue: The car has been parked for more than two months without moving, what should I pay attention to when starting again?
1. Lubricate the door sealing tape.
At this point, we must pay attention to it, don't pull the door handle too hard, especially the old car that is more than ten years old, otherwise it will be like I did before, directly pulling down my old jeep's door handle!
Because there is a sealing tape in the door frame, the glue strip of the old car will age very seriously with the passage of age, coupled with the fact that the door has been closed for a long time, the rain will make the door frame and the rubber strip or between the glue strip and the glue strip.
If the rubber strips of a whole door frame are all glued together, it is difficult to pull the door handle apart at this time, but it is likely to directly pull the door handle down, or directly tear the tape. Unfortunately, I've had both!
Therefore, the old car with a long age must be slow when opening the door, and the rubber strip and the door frame or the rubber strip and the rubber strip should be slowly separated, if the glue strip is really sticky together very seriously, then it is necessary to spray some high-efficiency silicone lubricant on the rubber strip in advance.
The method of use is very simple, before opening the door, first insert the silicide lubricant catheter into the door slit, and then spray directly, after spraying waiting for two minutes to open the car door, it will be very easy.
This lubricant can penetrate and lubricate rubber parts in advance, alleviate the rubber stickiness, the residual lubricant on the rubber strip directly with a dry towel to spread them on the rubber strip, but also can maintain the aging whitish rubber strip by the way, restore its tightness and elasticity.
Of course, if the door hinge has a friction noise when opening the door, or obvious rust marks, you can directly spray some WD-40 multi-purpose products on it to solve the problem, which is very simple.
Second, remove the rust spots of the brake discs.
Generally, family cars are cast iron brake discs, usually every day when commuting to work normally, the brake pads will rub the brake discs, so it will not rust. But if you park for more than a week, or even in the humid southern region, you can see obvious rust marks on the brake discs after stopping for about two or three days.
And the brake pads of the family car are actually added to the metal component, long-term non-use will also appear surface rust, and everyone in the parking time must be pulled on the handbrake, if the parking time is more than a month, the rear wheel of the brake disc and brake pad will be tightly glued together because of rust, even if you loosen the handbrake brake pad will not be released.
That's why many cars that have been parked for a long time will hear a cracking metal cracking sound from the rear wheels at the moment of just starting, which is the sound of the brake pads and brake discs being forcibly separated.
And after the car is driven up, there will also be friction noise transmitted to the car, in fact, the rust on the brake disc is caused by repeated friction of the brake pads. If the car is only parked for a few days, the rust is not serious, in fact, only need to step on the brakes a few feet these rust will be worn off, the brakes will not have noise.
However, after parking for about two months, the corrosion oxide layer on the brake disc is relatively thick, the noise will exist for a long time when braking, and the oxide layer that is rubbed down will be stuck in the brake sub-pump, causing the brake caliper to rust, the piston dust cover to be damaged and so on.
In this case, before driving, I can first go to each brake disc and brake caliper like me, spray point for the brake system cleaning and developed parts cleaning agent, can soften the corrosion oxide layer on the surface of the brake disc in advance, especially the brake pads and brake discs on the rear wheel should be cleaned.
The flushing method is very simple, the parts cleaner is directly from the hub between the spokes and the nozzle can be flushed into the brake discs and brake pads. In this way, when the car is started, these rust oxide layers can fall off faster and reduce the generation of brake noise.
Then after stopping, rinse the brake caliper with parts cleaner to rinse the residual rust inside, which can reduce the possibility of rust and wear inside the caliper.
Third, check the engine oil.
Directly open the engine hatch, and then pull out the oil gauge, if you find that the position of the oil has been below the minimum tick line, then you must add enough oil to the engine, preferably the same oil as the engine.
For example, the previous engine used SN-level 0W-20 oil, then it is best to add the same SN-level 0W-20 oil into it.
However, if there is no oil of the same type, you can add the same level and the same number of oil, to temporarily ensure that the engine has enough oil to participate in lubrication, and then immediately go to the repair shop to replace the new oil and oil filter.
Because as long as it is a genuine oil of the same grade and the same label, in the case of similar prices, the difference in the base oil will not be too large, and the probability of non-fusion is very, very small, so it will not cause excessive wear of the engine because of the oil problem.
However, if the amount of oil in the engine is insufficient, then it will definitely cause excessive wear and tear on the engine, so the lesser of two evils, I believe this truth everyone should understand!
Fourth, the correct way to take the power.
If your car is parked for more than 2 months, as long as there is no power outage, then the car is most likely a state of power loss. So the remote control key should be useless, you need to use the mechanical key to open the door, and then open the hood, ready to start with the electric power.
I personally recommend the use of electric treasure, the size and mobile phone charging treasure is similar, it has a circuit protection function, can directly connect the positive and negative pole pile head of the car battery, and then press the power button, you can directly start the car, very suitable for our ordinary car owners.
But if there is no electric treasure, only the most ordinary lighting line, you need another car with electricity. First find the positive electrode on the body, now many slightly more expensive family cars, because of the existence of a battery control module, there will be a special positive pile head in the cabin for being clipped.
Then use the two red positive pole clips of the fire line, respectively, clamp the positive pole of the two cars to take the electric position, if the car is older, there is no electric position, you can clip the positive pile head of the battery, and then use two black clips, first clamp the negative pile head of the battery with the tram, and then clip the metal screw of the body without the tram, that is, the hitchhiking position of the body.
Because the whole car is actually the negative pole of the battery, clamping the body without a tram is equivalent to clamping its negative pole, and it will not produce an electric spark, which is relatively safer. Finally, let the tram idle in place, and then start the car without electricity normally.
Of course, there will also be a situation that leads to difficulty in starting the power, that is, a large number of vulcanized crystals appear on the pile head of the battery, which will reduce the conductivity of the pile head, so even if the battery is sufficient, there will be difficulties in starting the car.
This situation is also very easy to solve, directly with a precision electrical cleaner with a brush, while spraying while brushing, until the brush is clean. This cleaner is non-conductive and can evaporate quickly, which is much safer than flushing this crystal with boiling water, and the key is that it is easy to operate. After cleaning, re-clamp the cable clip and you can restart.
Fifth, add high-grade gasoline.
Now the national 92 and 95 gasoline has been close to the full popularization of ethanol gasoline, although more environmentally friendly, but ethanol gasoline only has a one-month shelf life, which is really very short. So as long as you park for more than 30 days, the ethanol gasoline in the tank is not used up, and there will be stratification.
This is because the fuel tank of the family car is not a completely sealed structure, there will be air entering, and the moisture in the air will be absorbed by ethanol gasoline, and the ethanol and water will be separated from the gasoline, resulting in layering.
Although the water will not be too much, but because the density of water will be greater than oil, it is generally located in the lower layer of the fuel tank, and it will be preferentially pumped by the gasoline pump and injected into the engine, which will cause the engine to start difficulty. But of course, this starting difficulty is not continuous, in theory, as long as the layer of water is completely sprayed, the car can start normally.
The impact on the engine is not too big, but it is a bit unsure. If you don't want the water to be injected into the engine, you can also buy some gasoline additives with water removal in advance, and then pour it into the tank with no ethanol-added No. 98 gasoline and mix it with the original No. 92 or No. 95 gasoline.
This not only removes excess moisture, but also increases the octane level of the full tank of gasoline, and helps the engine to burn more stably, reducing cold-start knocks caused by long-term non-operation.
Sixth, check and replace the tires.
When the car parked for two months is opened, it feels that the car is shaking up and down regularly, shaking slowly when driving slowly, shaking fast when driving fast, then you must check the tires! Maybe after the car is parked for a long time, the tire is no longer a perfect round.
Because the tire is parked for a long time, the weight of the body is pressed on the part where the tire and the ground are in contact, then the contact position between the tire and the wheel hub will always be in a deformed state.
In this state, the tire will leak slow air, over time, the more air leakage, the greater the deformation of the tire, the greater the deformation, the more gas leaks in this position, and eventually lead to the entire tire completely flattened.
Coupled with a long period of parking, the tire rubber will be completely deformed, if it is only a year or so of new tires, it may refill the tire's gas, and then run again, the tire can return to normal.
But if it is an old tire with obvious cracks in the tread, even if it is refilled with gas, the rubber deformation is irreparable, then the tire will definitely become an irregular circle, and it will shake regularly when running.
The solution can only be to change the tire, there is no other way, and this must be changed, otherwise the speed is slightly faster, the car is likely to be unable to brake!
