According to data from the Car Buying Network Editors' Comprehensive Passenger Association, the wholesale sales of the joint venture compact SUV market from January to March 2022 were 505,400 units, which was 392,900 units less than the sales of its own brand compact SUVs. Sales of joint venture compact SUVs decreased by 34,900 units, down 6.5% year-on-year, compared to the same period last year.
According to the data, there are only five models of joint venture compact SUVs with an average monthly sales of more than 10,000 units in the first quarter, and the Honda CR-V won the first joint venture compact SUV sales with sales of 73812 units, and sales were basically the same as the same period last year.
Honda Haoying, which is the Honda CR-V, sold 34,217 vehicles in the first quarter, ranking fifth, down 23.8% year-on-year, and sales decreased by 10,667 units.
Nissan Qashqai ranked second, with cumulative sales of 46,470 vehicles in the first quarter, an increase of 20.1% year-on-year, and sales increased by 7,787 vehicles.
However, as the "big brother" of Qashqai, Qijun failed to replace, with cumulative sales of only 3121 vehicles in the first quarter, down 89.5% year-on-year, and sales decreased by 26689 vehicles, becoming the largest decline in the decline of joint venture compact SUVs.
Toyota RAV4 and Veranda were mixed, with ups and downs. Toyota RAV4 sales of 38,658 units, ranked third, down 23.2% year-on-year, sales decreased by 23.2%; Veranda sold 36,643 units, ranking fourth, up 29.1% year-on-year, sales increased by 8257 units.
As can be seen from the above data, the top five joint venture compact SUVs are all from Japanese brands, and the average monthly sales volume is more than 10,000.
Sales of the two Volkswagen brand SUVs were better than the same period last year, of which FAW-Volkswagen Tange sold 23,715 vehicles, ranking sixth, an increase of 10.6% year-on-year, and sales increased by 2,274 vehicles; SAIC Volkswagen Tuyue's cumulative sales of 22,980 vehicles, ranking eighth, an increase of 20.1% year-on-year, and sales increased by 3,852 vehicles.
Faw-Volkswagen Jetta VS5 sales continued to grow, ranking ninth in the first quarter with sales of 22,727 vehicles, up 29.3% year-on-year.
Luxury brand compact SUV sales declined overall, BMW X1 is still the best-selling model, the first quarter cumulative sales of 23122 vehicles, ranking seventh, down 10.8% year-on-year.
Audi Q3 cumulative sales of 15342 vehicles, ranked tenth, down 20.5% year-on-year; Mercedes-Benz GLB sales of 13205 units, down 15.4% year-on-year, sales decreased by 2409 units; Lincoln Adventurers sold 12820 vehicles, down 21.0% year-on-year, sales decreased by 2690 units.
Other joint venture compact SUVs that sold more than 10,000 units include: Hyundai ix35 sold 13,757 units, down 37.7% year-on-year; Hyundai Tucson sold 11,304 units, up 65.1% year-on-year; Toyota Fenglanda sold 12,318 units, and Toyota Corolla Ruifang sold 10,087 units.
