Oracle, a major computer software company, has announced the opening of a new industrial laboratory to provide a venue for enterprise customers to test immersive technology, and will continue to open new laboratories in the United Kingdom and Australia this year.

It is understood that the laboratory is located in Chicago, usa, covers an area of about 2787 square meters, will provide enterprise customers with a practical environment, using oracle and more than 30 industry partners technology, jointly develop AR/VR and other immersive technologies and solutions. With the support of Verizon 5G, the focus will be on energy, water, building and engineering, communications and manufacturing first.

Enterprise software vendor Taqtile is one of the lab's partners, leveraging AR, cloud computing, and LTE/5G networks for knowledge collection and sharing. It has developed AR hardware and software solutions, including THE AR work guidance platform Manifest, which provides frontline workers with instant access to work instructions, digital manuals, distribution videos, AR know signs and so on. In addition, Manifest supports remote collaboration, allowing frontline workers to quickly receive remote expert guidance.

According to Taqtile, Manifest allows deskless workers who need additional support to connect with experienced technicians and trainers anytime, anywhere. With real-time guidance in the Manifest AR environment, company experts are able to facilitate problem resolution remotely.

In addition, Oracle will provide database technology through which to provide a platform for collaboration and implementation for industry solutions and enterprise customers.
