According to The Car Uncle, the new generation of Ford Taurus will only be sold in the Middle East market, is expected to be OEM by Changan Ford, and will share the production line with the new generation of Mondeo.
From the official picture, the appearance of the new generation of Ford Taurus and the new generation of Mondeo is exactly the same, the front face is also equipped with a scaly forward air grille, the entire grille has been blackened, and the headlights on both sides of the headlight group adopt a split design, the upper daytime running lights are very sharp, and the whole front face looks dynamic. In addition, the tail shape of the new taurus is also the same as that of the new generation of Mondeo, there is no obvious difference, but the tail tag has been replaced by "TRURUS".
Not only is the appearance the same, the interior layout of the new taurus is also similar to that of the new generation of Mondeo, but the new generation of Taurus will not be equipped with a large screen that runs through the entire center console, but will use the dual large screen composed of lcd instrument panel and central control screen of the Mondeo entry-level model. At the same time, the interior of the new taurus will be a mixture of black and white, and equipped with in-car mood lights, mobile phone interconnection, adaptive cruise, knob shift mechanism and so on.
In terms of power, the new taurus will be equipped with a 2.0T engine, and the transmission system is matched with an 8-speed automatic or 8-speed manual transmission. For reference, ford Mondeo's engine has a maximum power of 175 kW, a peak torque of 376 N·m, and a WLTC combined fuel consumption of 7.11 L per 100 km.
Mondeo and Taurus were two separate models before this, but with the official map of the new taurus being exposed, it can be seen that Ford is ready to merge the two models, but the model names in different markets are different, and the new taurus will not be listed in China. In addition, some dealers said that the seventh generation taurus was discontinued in December 2021.
