On April 21, Deng Chenghao, general manager of Changan New Energy, announced that EPA1, an all-electric digital platform derived from Changan Automobile's "Shangri-La Plan", was officially launched and will be used for mass production of new cars code-named C385. The latter will be the first new car of the Deep Blue brand, providing pure electricity, extended range and hydrogen power respectively, and entering the B-class car market.

The EPA1 platform emphasizes an "all-electric digital platform". Note that it is all-electric and not purely electric. In fact, EPA1 is a highly compatible platform that can provide pure electric, extended range, hydrogen fuel and other power configurations, enabling rapid mass production of various drive forms.

For example, the Changan Deep Blue First Car C385, which is built based on this platform, can provide three power options: pure electric version, extended range version and hydrogen electric version.

Deng Chenghao said that the technical characteristics of this platform can be summarized by "4 highs": "The 'high efficiency' realized from multiple electric drive dimensions; the 'high performance' of the later drive taking into account the genes of the four-wheel drive; the 'high intelligence' based on the domain-controlled electronic and electrical architecture; and the 'high safety' of the three-layer protection of the core car cloud."

Among them, high efficiency is mainly with the help of Chang'an's new generation of super-collector electric drive system (the maximum efficiency can reach 95%), micro-core high-frequency pulse heating system, autonomous car range extension system and autonomous car hydrogen fuel cell system, bringing lower energy consumption performance, ultra-low temperature extreme heating and faster energy replenishment speed. For example, under the drive of the extended range system, 1L of oil can generate about 3.3 degrees of electricity; under the drive of hydrogen, 1 kg of hydrogen gas generates 20.5 degrees, and the energy is replenished ultra-fast in 3 minutes.

The first model based on the all-electric digital platform EPA1 is the Changan Deep Blue C385.

Judging by the information released, the Deep Blue C385 will position itself as a B-Class sedan. Changan Automobile said that the Navy C385 is 4820/1890/1480mm in length, width and height, and the wheelbase is 2900mm, and the wheelbase has exceeded the standard of B-class cars, almost reaching the level of C-class cars.

Deng Chenghao said that under the CLTC working conditions, the C385 pure electric version of the comprehensive working condition cruising range can reach more than 700 kilometers, the maximum power can reach more than 190 kilowatts, and the power consumption of 100 kilometers reaches less than 12.3 kilowatt hours; the mileage of the extended range full oil full electric comprehensive working conditions can reach more than 1200 kilometers, the simple electric comprehensive working conditions can reach more than 200 kilometers, and the fuel consumption of 100 kilometers is as low as 4.5L.

As a differentiated advantage from other competitors, the C385 hydrogen version has a comprehensive working range of more than 700 kilometers, and the hydrogen consumption of 100 kilometers of feeders is as low as 0.65 kg, which can achieve 3 minutes of ultra-fast energy replenishment.
