Based on the EPA1 all-electric platform, compatible with three power forms, the deep blue brand debuted only one week, Changan Automobile came with the core information of the mass production car.
On April 21, Deng Chenghao, general manager of Changan New Energy, announced that EPA1, an all-electric digital platform derived from Changan Automobile's "Shangri-La Plan", was officially launched and will be used for mass production of new cars code-named C385. The latter will be the first new car of the Deep Blue brand, providing pure electricity, extended range and hydrogen power respectively, and entering the B-class car market.

■ EPA1 platform: "all-electric" non-pure electricity
The EPA1 platform emphasizes an "all-electric digital platform". Note that it is all-electric and not purely electric. In fact, EPA1 is a highly compatible platform that can provide pure electric, extended range, hydrogen fuel and other power configurations, enabling rapid mass production of various drive forms.
For example, the Changan Deep Blue First Car C385, which is built based on this platform, can provide three power options: pure electric version, extended range version and hydrogen electric version.
Deng Chenghao said that the technical characteristics of this platform can be summarized by "4 highs": "The 'high efficiency' realized from multiple electric drive dimensions; the 'high performance' of the later drive taking into account the genes of the four-wheel drive; the 'high intelligence' based on the domain-controlled electronic and electrical architecture; and the 'high safety' of the three-layer protection of the core car cloud."
Among them, high efficiency is mainly with the help of Chang'an's new generation of super-collector electric drive system (the maximum efficiency can reach 95%), micro-core high-frequency pulse heating system, autonomous car range extension system and autonomous car hydrogen fuel cell system, bringing lower energy consumption performance, ultra-low temperature extreme heating and faster energy replenishment speed. For example, under the drive of the extended range system, 1L of oil can generate about 3.3 degrees of electricity; under the drive of hydrogen, 1 kg of hydrogen gas generates 20.5 degrees, and the energy is replenished ultra-fast in 3 minutes.
High performance, mainly in the "rear drive and four-wheel drive" to achieve a single motor maximum output power of 190kW and 5.9s of 100 km/h acceleration (C385 measured). High intelligence, mainly based on the latest generation of "domain control electronic and electrical architecture", brings the three major domain control functions of vehicle control domain, cockpit domain and self-driving domain, and realizes the OTA upgrade of all node controllers in the whole vehicle. High security, relying on the 3-layer security architecture of the core car cloud, realizes platform security and data security, and effectively avoids battery thermal runaway through iBC digital battery butler.
Although in the field of electrification, the arrival of Changan Deep Blue is somewhat late, but for this all-electric digital platform EPA1, which has been launched for five years, Changan Automobile has great confidence. Yang Dayong, vice president of Changan Automobile and chairman of Changan New Energy, even shouted at the press conference that "Changan Deep Blue has made sufficient technical reserves." ”
Based on these technical reserves, Yang Dayong said that Changan Deep Blue will provide new energy users of Generation Z with four major values: innovation and reconstruction, interconnection of all things, experience at will, and low-carbon life. These four values can provide consumers with a variety of electrified and intelligent new experiences in product design, platform architecture, digital ecology, smart services, low-carbon travel and other aspects.

■Dark Blue C385: Rushing into the B-class car market "Red Sea" with three kinds of power
The first model based on the all-electric digital platform EPA1 is the Changan Deep Blue C385.
Judging by the information released, the Deep Blue C385 will position itself as a B-Class sedan. Changan Automobile said that the Navy C385 is 4820/1890/1480mm in length, width and height, and the wheelbase is 2900mm, and the wheelbase has exceeded the standard of B-class cars, almost reaching the level of C-class cars.
Although the body size is outstanding, Changan Deep Blue chose to let its first model enter the B-class car market, which is still "very brave". You know, B-class cars have always been the most competitive market segment, with more than a dozen models sold monthly of 10,000 or 20,000 models, and even Tesla Model 3 and Xiaopeng P in March sales have reached 26,024 and 9,183 units respectively. Last month, the BMW i3 also joined in, and the competition can be imagined.
However, as the first model of Changan Deep Blue to expand its territory in the field of new energy, the C385 still has great highlights. In one go, the pure electric version, the extended range version, and the hydrogen fuel cell version were launched three kinds of power models, which are not available in the same level of products. Especially in the case of hydrogen electricity, C385 is also the first mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell car in China.
Deng Chenghao said that under the CLTC working conditions, the C385 pure electric version of the comprehensive working condition cruising range can reach more than 700 kilometers, the maximum power can reach more than 190 kilowatts, and the power consumption of 100 kilometers reaches less than 12.3 kilowatt hours; the mileage of the extended range full oil full electric comprehensive working conditions can reach more than 1200 kilometers, the simple electric comprehensive working conditions can reach more than 200 kilometers, and the fuel consumption of 100 kilometers is as low as 4.5L.
As a differentiated advantage from other competitors, the C385 hydrogen version has a comprehensive working range of more than 700 kilometers, and the hydrogen consumption of 100 kilometers of feeders is as low as 0.65 kg, which can achieve 3 minutes of ultra-fast energy replenishment.
In addition to these, the Changan Deep Blue C385 has many highlights. For example, it adopts a minimalist design with a slip-on body, sports kit, hidden door handles, closed aerodynamic wheels, etc.; a 14.6-inch sunflower screen equipped with intelligent steering with driving, equipped with electric hatchback doors, etc. Deng Chenghao said, "The C385 will be equipped with the first or leading intelligent technology technology and configuration of the top 100 industries or the same level. ”
In 2017, Changan Automobile released the "Shangri-La Plan", when the proposed goal was to "complete the construction of the three major new energy dedicated platforms by 2020, fully stop the sale of fuel vehicles by 2025, and realize the electrification of full-spectrum products." "Nowadays, Changan Automobile's goal of building three major platforms has been delayed, at least two years after landing, and its full spectrum electrification also needs to be accelerated."
At the time of the release of Deep Blue, Changan Automobile said it would further transform into electrification and electrification. According to the plan, by 2025, Changan's total sales will reach 4 million vehicles, of which 3 million are Changan brand vehicles and new energy sales will reach 1.05 million vehicles, accounting for 35%; by 2030, Changan Automobile sales will reach 5.5 million vehicles, Changan brand sales will reach 4.5 million vehicles, and new energy sales will reach 2.7 million vehicles, accounting for 60%.
