Recently, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. Changchun Fengyue Company, and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulations in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products, and recalled the following vehicles from May 11, 2022.
1. GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd
Recalls 82,680 units of some Wilanda High Performance Editions manufactured between April 19, 2021 and April 6, 2022, some Fourth-Generation Highlanders manufactured between July 24, 2021 and April 8, 2022, some Syna produced between December 4, 2021 and April 7, 2022, and some Viarsa dual engines manufactured between February 28, 2022 and April 7, 2022.
2. FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd
Recalled a portion of the Crown Land Releases manufactured between July 27, 2021 and April 7, 2022, for a total of 40,770 vehicles.
3. Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. Changchun Fengyue Company
The recall will be made of 11,133 rav4 rongfang produced between April 5, 2021 and March 12, 2022, and some rav4 rongfang produced between October 25, 2021 and March 23, 2022.
4. Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd
The recall of some imported Lexus NX350h and NX400h+ vehicles manufactured between March 31, 2021 and April 1, 2022, and some imported Toyota Mirai vehicles manufactured between August 2, 2021 and October 5, 2021, totaling 4,316 vehicles.
Some vehicles within the scope of this recall due to the internal procedures of VSC (Body Stability Control System) are not perfect, if the driver artificially closes the VSC function when the vehicle is started, and maintains the state of pressing the brake pedal all the time, after the vehicle is turned off and restarted, vsC cannot automatically return to the initial default mode (open state), and at the same time, the VSC off prompt light on the dashboard is lit, at this time THE VSC may not play an effective role, there is a safety hazard.
GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. Changchun Fengyue Company, and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will upgrade the internal procedures of the brake actuator control ECU for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
Emergency measures: Before recalling repairs, if the VSC OFF indicator light on the dashboard is lit after the vehicle restarts, the user can press the VSC OFF key as needed to manually turn on the VSC function.
