Recently, BMW's large luxury SUV, the X7, made its first public appearance in China, and we also filmed it in real vehicles. As the flagship SUV model in BMW models, the X7 combines the latest technology and luxury equipment in one, and this mid-term redesign also changes the original design of the X7, using a split headlight design for the first time, while the interior is also replaced with an integrated suspension curved screen, adding a 23-inch sports hub for the first time in terms of driving performance.
In terms of appearance, the new BMW X7 front surround part introduces a more three-dimensional design, and the aluminum trim of the front protrusion enhances the X7's overall sporty feel. The front face mesh adopts an active grille design, which can effectively reduce the wind resistance by about 7% when closed. In terms of body size, the size of the new X7 is basically the same as the current model, the length, width and height are 5162/2000/1819mm, and the wheelbase is the same as 3105mm, which is 16mm lower than the current X7 in height. The rear of the car excludes the original electric sunshade, and adds a rear privacy glass, and the whole car still uses double-layer soundproof glass.
The new X7 offers a maximum of 23-inch multi-width aluminum alloy sport wheels, while the 20-inch wheels are the most basic configuration in the global market, featuring Pirelli P ZERO tires, front 275/35 R23 rear wheels 315/30 R23. The overall rear of the car is basically the same as the current model, the LED tail lights have been slightly adjusted in the styling details, and the interior of the tail lights has been 3D carved texture treatment, which is more exquisite.
The overall style of the interior is still the familiar BMW layout, but both the central control screen mold and the middle decoration have been greatly improved. A large number of solid wood decorations are used in the interior, and the combination of solid wood trim and chrome can be seen on the central panel, and the LED ambient light bar has been added in front of the co-driver to increase the luxurious atmosphere of the entire cockpit.
In terms of cabin space, the base fabric of the seat is BMW individual Merion fabric, and sensafin leather with a more comfortable texture will be provided as an option in the future. The layout is still the standard six-seat layout, and there will also be a seven-seat layout choice, two rows of seat headrests have been added to the removable suede headrest, and the new X7 series will provide a panoramic skylight.
In the power part, the flagship X7 xDrive40i version will be equipped with a 3.0T straight six engine, and added a 48V light mix system, the maximum horsepower is 380ps, the maximum torque is 540N·m, and the acceleration of 100 kilometers is about 5.8s, which is an improvement compared to the current model. In addition to the 40i, the M60i xDrive version is also introduced, which is expected to be equipped with a 4.4T V8 engine plus a 48V light hybrid system. Active steering and magic carpet intelligent air suspension system are available on the chassis, and the xDrive system makes the X7 comfortable and handlable.
