On April 15, Tesla China Charging Team released data showing that in March this year, Tesla built 27 new superchargering stations and 147 superchargering piles in Chinese mainland, which have been opened in 20 cities (counties) across the country.
Up to now, Tesla has built and opened more than 1,100 superchargering stations and more than 8,500 superchargering piles in Chinese mainland. With more than 700 destination charging stations and more than 1800 destination charging piles, it perfectly covers more than 360 cities and regions across the country. Tesla owners go out to charge more conveniently, not only the charging station is easy to find, the charging speed is also faster, which plays a huge role in promoting the development of the domestic new energy automobile industry.
It is understood that Tesla only added 3 charging stations and 18 charging piles in February, and did not expect the improvement in March to be so obvious. Officials also announced plans for April, expecting to build new charging stations in more than 20 cities or regions such as Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Changsha, Wuhan, Guangzhou, qingdao and other cities or regions to further expand the territory of fast charging networks. Today, Tesla's fast charging network covers almost 100% of all provincial capitals and municipalities directly under the central government Chinese mainland, and the next step is to increase the density of stations in the city and gradually penetrate into the areas below the county level.
Tesla also released a video of the construction of a supercharger station, and a charging station can be completed and deployed in as soon as 8 days and put into use. It did not choose to install charging piles on the site and cement, but directly placed the charging piles that had been installed on the cement base on the site. This prefabricated plus assembled mode greatly improves the construction speed of charging stations, simplifies the construction process and reduces costs, which is worth learning from other car companies.
According to the data released by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Tesla's domestic sales reached 65,754 vehicles in March, an increase of 85.3% year-on-year, ranking second in the domestic new energy market, second only to BYD's 103229 vehicles. Among them, the Model Y won the first place in the new energy SUV list with a score of 39730 vehicles, surpassing BYD Song, Ideal ONE and other models. The single-month sales of the Model 3 also reached 26,024 units, ranking second in the list of new energy cars.
Even if the price has increased many times, Tesla's sales are still quite hot, and it is estimated that it is difficult for car companies to compete with the sales of a single model. However, Tesla is also currently under huge production capacity pressure, with new car delivery deadlines extended to 10 to 14 weeks, and Model 3 needing to wait 20 to 24 weeks. Recently, due to the impact of the Shanghai epidemic, the Shanghai Super Factory stopped production, and the follow-up production capacity pressure is estimated to be more severe, and the pick-up time may continue to be extended.
