Power, endurance and ability
In addition to the cool appearance and more exquisite interior, MINI EV GAMEBOY has also undergone a significant upgrade in power and endurance. The first is the endurance, which has been upgraded from the original 120 km and 170 km versions to 200 km and 300 km (CLTC conditions). Battery capacity has also been increased from the original 9.3kWh and 13.9kWh to 17.3kWh and 26.5kWh.
In terms of power, the GAMEBOY series still adopts the layout of the rear single motor, but the motor power is upgraded from the original 20kW (27Ps) and the maximum torque of 85N·m to 30kW (41Ps) and the maximum torque of 110N·m.
The first feeling of driving this MINI EV GAMEBOY is that the power is lighter. At the same time, in the sport mode, the kinetic energy recovery of the vehicle will also be adjusted to the maximum. However, in the economic mode and standard mode, the presence of drag is almost imperceptible, and the vehicle tends to slide after releasing the electric door.
As we all know, pure electric models like the Hongguang MINI EV are prone to "non-linear decline" when they continue to cruise at high speeds and drive intensely. After the powertrain upgrade, has GAMEBOY performance improved? Since there is no old model to do the same game comparison, this question that everyone is very concerned about cannot give you an accurate answer here.
But there is a set of figures for your reference, our MINI EV GAMEBOY one afternoon test drive activity, a total of 60 kilometers. Under the condition that the air conditioner is turned on throughout the whole process, most of the road section is an urban expressway, and there is a relatively intense driving time for a long time, the final cruising range is reduced by 81 kilometers.

But this does not mean that the handling limit of the GAMEBOY series has been substantially improved, which is still a miniature car with a high center of gravity, narrow tires and a low chassis limit.

Two questions to answer
At the end of this test drive experience, I think we still need to solve two problems with this Macro MINI EV GAMEBOY.

However, it should be clear that the upgrade of the GAMEBOY series compared with the macaron version is not a simple design upgrade on the exterior interior, but a comprehensive improvement in body size, interior design, power configuration, and mileage. Especially through this test drive experience, I was quite impressed by the improvement in the power of the GAMEBOY series.
At the same time, Wuling also hopes to build the GAMEBOY series into a high-end model in the MINI EV series. Therefore, calling the GAMEBOY series "MacroMI EV PLUS" makes it easier to understand its positioning.
If all you need is a practical car for daily transportation, then the basic version and macaron version that were previously launched are the best option for "spending a lot of money to do big things".
But if you appreciate the exterior interior design of GAMEBOY more, or have a higher demand for power endurance, then in terms of the all-round improvement of the GAMEBOY series, it is no problem to spend more money to choose it.
Secondly, what is currently lacking in the GAMEBOY series? On this issue, I think everyone's idea should be highly unified, that is, the lack of a "fast charging" interface.
For many consumers in first-tier and second-tier cities, if they want to have a Hongguang MINI EV, there is no fast charging interface that cannot be bypassed. In the face of fixed parking spaces starting from 200,000 to 300,000 yuan, the inability to use public charging stations for rapid refueling is an important reason why many potential consumers who do not have fixed parking spaces choose to give up it. As the highest positioning and most expensive model of the CURRENT MINI EV car series, it is still necessary to add a fast charging interface to improve the charging experience and increase the use scenarios of the vehicle.
As of the time of listing, the cumulative number of blind bookings of Hongguang MINI EV GAMEBOY has exceeded 30,000 units.
