BYD announced the suspension of pure fuel vehicles
In recent years, global new energy vehicles have gradually become the mainstream, and many European car companies have announced that they will stop production of fuel vehicles in the name of environmental protection in the future. On April 3, BYD officially announced that since March this year, they have stopped the production of pure fuel vehicles, and will focus all their energy on the production and development of plug-in hybrids and pure electric vehicles in the future. In this way, BYD has also become the world's first car company to truly stop production of pure fuel vehicles, which is much ahead of European car companies.
In fact, BYD's suspension of the sale of pure fuel vehicles is not an accident, because in the past two years, the rise of DM-i and EV series, the proportion of pure fuel vehicles in BYD's sales has been very low. According to BYD's official 2021 financial report, BYD sold 730,000 new cars last year, up 75% year-on-year and 320,000 more than in 2020. Among them, 320,000 pure electric vehicles, an increase of 144.9%, 270,000 plug-in and mixed vehicles, an increase of 467.6%, pure fuel vehicles sold less than 140,000 vehicles.
That is to say, the new sales of BYD new energy vehicles last year have exceeded the annual sales of pure fuel vehicles. Moreover, BYD fuel vehicle main models F3, Song, are priced below 100,000 yuan of models, the profit itself is low, BYD cut off the fuel vehicle product line, can further allocate production capacity to new energy vehicles, continue to increase the sales of new energy vehicles, in terms of profits are more secure than low-priced fuel vehicles.
For consumers, after BYD cuts the pure fuel vehicle product line, the cheapest model will be the pure electric SUV Yuan Pro that started at 92,800, while the lowest price of the DM series model is the Qin PLUS DM-i with 111,800. It can be seen that there is really no BYD model to choose from within 100,000 yuan. Fortunately, the BYD DM-i series is not much more expensive than the pure fuel version. For example, Song Pro DM-i, compared to the same configuration of 1.5T pure fuel version is also about 20,000 yuan more expensive, but can get a huge increase in power, fuel consumption, experience, cost performance is still very high.
Tesla recalled nearly 130,000 vehicles
Tesla recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation to recall some imported and domestically produced Model 3 models from January 11, 2019 to January 25, 2022 from April 7, 2019, for a total of 127785 units. Interestingly, Tesla's solution to the inverter hardware problem is not to replace the hardware through recall, but to use the OTA to upgrade the motor control software to solve the problem, only the old vehicles that do not support OTA upgrades will replace the hardware through the after-sales center.
