Do trams really save money than fuel cars?

With the development of the times, the implementation of new energy vehicles, the rise in oil prices, the rapid progress of pure electric vehicles, more and more people began to consider new energy vehicles, including Xiaobian himself, last year also replaced the oil truck with a tram. Many people say that charging is almost equivalent to no money than refueling rounding, buying a cheap tram, driving for a few years, and even saving the price of the car, which is equivalent to white prostitution. Is there really such a big cost advantage compared to trams and fuel vehicles? This issue will take you to knock on the blackboard to draw the key analysis to go through a wave.

First of all, a key point is what is your car environment?

We take the 100,000 yuan family car as an example, if you choose a tram, in the case of a parking space and a charging pile, it is indeed more economical than a fuel car. But if the car environment is not so ideal, it is better to buy a gasoline car, and the tram at the same price will generally be one level lower than the fuel car.

1. The cost of charging and replenishing energy is much lower than that of refueling

Let's start with the situation where trams are more economical than fuel cars. First of all, there are fixed parking spaces at home, fixed charging piles, no need to go outside to charge, that is indeed more economical than the oil car. For example, mobile phones, the cost of charging at home every day is very low, but if you borrow a charging treasure to charge outside every day, charging is to go to the mall and the hotel to borrow a charging treasure, the cost is really not low. In the case of parking spaces and charging piles, coupled with the home Pinggu peak electricity, the cost of refueling the tram is far lower than that of the fuel car.

Taking Xiaopeng P7 as an example, the battery with 60 kWh electricity is charged after 22:00 every night, and each kWh of electricity is about 0.3 yuan, and it is almost 20 yuan less than 20 yuan when it is full. The table shows a CRUIC of 480km, and the actual cruising range is 6 to 30% off according to the climatic conditions, which is about 300 km.

Converted down to about 0.07 yuan per kilometer, compared to the previous fuel vehicles, each kilometer is more than 0.6 yuan, and the average tram here is about 0.5 yuan cheaper than the fuel car per kilometer. Xiaobian used to commute nearly 40 kilometers back and forth every day, and the monthly fuel cost was about 600 yuan, and now the tram does not exceed 80 yuan per month, and the advantage of supplementary cost is obvious.

2. The maintenance cost of trams is lower than that of fuel vehicles

At present, there is basically no subsidy for trams at a price of about 100,000, and the insurance price is close, and the tram is also less than the purchase tax of the oil car. Since electric vehicles do not have key components such as traditional fuel vehicle engines and gearboxes, the maintenance cost is also lower than that of oil vehicles.

The total cost of maintenance of 100,000 yuan of fuel vehicles for 60,000 kilometers is about 5,000 yuan, and the pure tram is about 1,000 yuan, which is about 0.06 yuan cheaper per kilometer. The charging cost per kilometer of the tram is less than 0.1 yuan, the cost of the oil car per kilometer is about 0.6 yuan, and the comprehensive tram is about 0.5 yuan cheaper than the oil car per kilometer. So far, the cost of using trams is indeed relatively advantageous.

3. The retention rate of trams is not as good as that of oil trucks

Since it is the cost of use, it is natural to take into account the retention rate, if you count the retention rate, the tram needs to reach a certain mileage every year to be truly more economical than the oil car. The China Automobile Dealers Association and Jingzhen Estimate released a "October 2021 China Automobile Retention Rate Report" with a data above, the average retention rate of electric vehicles with a 3-year age is 42.9%, and common self-owned car brands such as Changan, Geely, etc. are generally around 60%.

100,000 yuan of trams for 3 years will be more than the fuel car to lose about 20,000 yuan, the tram is cheaper than the oil car per kilometer 5 cents, that is, run 14,000km a year to run the loss of the retention rate money back, so in theory, the more the tram runs, the more you save.

4. The importance of fixed charging parking spaces for trams

At first glance, this tram costs a lot less than a fuel car, but don't forget that the premise is that there are fixed parking spaces in the community and charging piles can be installed. Take the Shanghai community where the editor is located, for example, the price of a property parking space ranges from 200,000 to 400,000, and the price may be higher according to the geographical location and the difference in the community, and many residential parking spaces are not sold to the outside world.

Studies have shown that the average ratio of cars to parking spaces in large cities on the mainland is about 1:0.8, and in small and medium-sized cities is 1:0.5, which means that 20%-50% of people can't even find parking spaces, let alone their own parking spaces.

Then if you use a public charging pile, the cost of using the tram is not so low, the State Grid, special call, small orange, star and other APP, charging price per kilowatt hour ranges from 1.2 yuan to 2.1 yuan, and some do not include service fees. Still take Xiaopeng P7 as an example, full of 60 degrees, about 100 yuan, if you calculate this cost, the use of trams per kilometer needs about 3 cents, compared to the fuel truck energy cost advantage is not so big. Of course, not counting the cost of parking the charging time, the time cost of queuing up for charging and waiting for charging, these situations either affect the wallet or affect the mood.

5. The high-speed economy of trams is not as good as that of oil trucks

In addition, if the tram often runs high-speed, the cost of use will be higher, and the power consumption of the tram running high-speed will be relatively high. The US National Environmental Protection Agency has a test data for the Tesla Model 3, the power consumption of urban conditions is 140wh/km, and the high-speed is 157wh/km, which is 12% more power consumption.

Since the tram does not have the characteristics of the gearbox, the actual power consumption of the tram running high speed will be higher than 12%, so for friends who often run high speed and long distance, the tram does not have so much advantage. Coupled with the fact that charging queues on high speeds is not uncommon, charging a power can not wait for several hours, long-distance experience is indeed not as good as oil trucks.

summary

If you have a fixed parking space at home, and you can install charging piles, and most of your daily commuting is in the city, the tram is indeed a more economical choice, not only saving time, saving charging costs, and in the limited city can get a unimpeded green card for free is very cost-effective.

However, if there are no conditions for the above car environment, buying a fuel car is indeed a better choice.
