With the official launch of Epic Games Unreal Engine 5, I believe that many PC players have experienced the fake real picture in "The Matrix: Awakening", and recently Twitter bloggers @volodXYZ created a "superman" with free resource packs, let's take a look at the component editing capabilities under Unreal Engine 5.
In the latest Unreal Engine, just released on April 5, game developers are already trying to figure out how to incorporate their craziest dreams into Unreal 5 into a realistic reality. Twitter blogger @volodXYZ is a game development artist who built a Superman-style flight demonstration using the recently released The Matrix free resource pack.
City Samples is a free downloadable resource pack designed to help developers understand how Epic Games built the Matrix Awakens technology demo shown at the Game Awards last year. Among the free resources are the buildings, vehicles, and crowds that demonstrate. Both the Matrix demo and its resource packs use new AI, lighting, and rendering systems specific to Unreal Engine 5.
While @volodXYZ mod uses only a faceless character model that bears any resemblance to The Cloaked Hero, the powerful sense of speed combined with the city scale and the fake real game graphics do satisfy fans' fantasies. While the mod itself has a number of issues, such as a vehicle with infinite rotation, it also demonstrates the powerful compatibility of Unreal 5.
@volodXYZ said, "If I can find an interesting example of the game, I'll combine the existing mod with the flight mechanics and release it to the public." In the Twitter reply, it was also mentioned that their mod did encounter a "bottleneck", similar to flying over the city, the object loading speed is not fast enough, etc. Despite the technical problems with the new engine, within three days of Unreal Engine 5's launch, one person was able to create a realistic superhuman-style flight demo that was enough to shock players and show Unreal Engine 5's amazing editing and creativity.
In the eyes of the editor, this engine is certainly not only to bring players a cinematic graphic performance so simple, the emergence of MOD works makes players full of expectations for the use of new engines to develop games. So even if Superman doesn't officially land on Unreal Engine in the near future, we still have plenty of near-photorealistic games to look forward to as developers continue to demonstrate the power of new engines.
