Support for the Star Wars - Battlefront II update was discontinued in 2020, and developer DICE focused more on Battlefield 2042, but fans didn't give up on the game. Mod makers are bringing heroes who fail to join the game to life with the newly released Frontline 2022 Mod.
The new mod started out as two separate projects, but eventually they merged to produce bigger and more complete content. Led by PianoBoy1764 and this_guy446, 25 new characters have been added, including new models, weapons, and abilities, as well as new AI pathfinding, a redesigned UI, and new reinforcements. While not yet complete, the two plan to continue updating the mod to bring Star Wars: Frontline 2 back to life two years after the update ended.
In The Frontline 2022 Mod, players can play as the Jedi Temple Guards, Magnaguard, Alderaan Honor Guard, and Riot Troopers, all brand new reinforcements. As for heroes and villains, players can now play as Mace Windu, Captain Rex, Cade Bain, Bocatan Kreze, Asagi Ventress, Commander Cody, Crosshair, Hunter, Jango Fett, Destroyer, Second Sister, Sabine Wren, IG-88, Mandalorian, Darth Sidious (Red Lightsaber Version), Moff Gideon, Nyan Nambu, Greedo, Chin Urso, Imperial Inquisitor, Asoka Tano, Dengga, Po Dameron, and Snooker.
The Mod release page comes with a handy guide that tells players how to install the tools they need, so players can easily try out new content. Of course, thanks to the fact that it adds entirely new characters, it is not possible to use its contents online, but it can be enjoyed in offline mode or through a Kyber server running by fans.
The two mod authors listed Gravar, Tortuga, TyranEauZooRusseRex, Mank Demery, Acribro, Daz, Claymaver, Aviator, btec, Alias Hasim, Bluenade, Lopieloo, SpartanCV and Soullbruh as new updates to the Frontline 2022 Mod.
