Founded in 2012, Heart Language Center is the first rehabilitation institution in Sanshui dedicated to autism patients. Ten years ago, as a lone brave person on the road of Sanshui to protect the "star", Deng Jianxian single-handedly embarked on a localized rehabilitation path for autistic patients in her jurisdiction. There are currently about 200 people with autism receiving rehabilitation assistance services, concentrated in 4-7 years old, about 120 people.
"At present, the rehabilitation subsidy standard is higher than that of the whole province, and the provincial standard only covers autistic children aged 0-7 years old." Rehabilitation subsidy funds are jointly shared by the municipal, district and town levels, settled once every six months, and applied for by institutions providing rehabilitation services.
Deng Jianxian said that the large mobility of the teaching team and the tight operating funds are the two major problems facing the long-term and stable development of the HeartTalk Center. In the past, subsidy funds needed to be applied to the city, district and town levels, the application procedures were cumbersome, the arrival time was long, and the semi-annual settlement also caused great operational pressure on the institution, and it was hoped that the subsidy policy would be continuously improved while further optimizing the payment process.
At present, this dilemma is being alleviated. The reporter learned from the Disabled Affairs Unit of the Sanshui District Civil Affairs Bureau that since May 2021, the subsidy fund for autism rehabilitation can be applied for, approved and issued through foshan Support Pass, and the rehabilitation institutions no longer need to apply to the three levels of the city, district and town respectively, but are uniformly paid by the district co-ordinating the city and town funds, and considering the shortage of funds for rehabilitation institutions, the subsidy funds will also be issued in batches, and there is no need to wait for the three levels of funds to be in place before being issued.

How to detect early, Chen Meijun called on parents to be sure to take their children to children's health examinations on time. 0 to 3 years old health examination is very important, not only to check the child's height, weight and other growth indicators, but also to check the child's mental state, psychological growth and development, etc., can find problems in time to diagnose and treat, so that children do not miss the key period of treatment.
The Department of Child Health Of Sanshui District Maternal and Child Health Hospital has set up autism language rehabilitation treatment in 2012, and in 2018, it began to start a feeling integration training (behavioral intervention) for autism. In recent years, the number of children with autism who have undergone rehabilitation treatment has increased year by year, and at present, nearly 40 children with autism are receiving intervention treatment in the child health department of the Sanshui District Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

As a long-running and large-scale autism rehabilitation training institution in Sanshui, the Heart Language Center has received more than 350 trainees and rehabilitation personnel, of which 86 children have successfully returned to kindergartens after rehabilitation training, 40 children have returned to primary and secondary schools, and 30 children have improved their situation and entered public special schools.

Anan, who likes to play with water since childhood, began to learn to swim from the age of 6, from learning to paddle to learning to breathe, it took 10 years.
Although he has undergone years of rehabilitation training and behavioral intervention, it is still difficult for him to form a sense of "normative behavior", such as seeing the interested mobile phone picture in the elevator, touching other people's mobile phones, and causing harassment to others. In addition, he has severe sleep disorders, often not sleeping all night, running around the house, humming songs, etc.
All of this makes it difficult for him to integrate into society. The average parent is always happy to see the children who are growing up fast, and the parents of these autistic patients, watching their children's bodies getting taller and taller, are all kinds of sadness, only because their minds are stagnant. They are all afraid that they will grow old, and these adult "star children" will have no place to live.
This is the difficulty and pain point of this type of family. Lin Tingxuan introduced that at present, 6 community health park centers in Sanshui can provide services such as care and rehabilitation, skills training, and employment training for the disabled, but because many autistic patients over 14 years old do not have the ability to take care of themselves and cannot meet the standards for entering the park, there are very few such groups in the community health park center.
In fact, in the civil affairs support system, autistic patients are classified as disabled people and included in the mentally disabled group. But by definition, autistic patients are more mentally retarded, not mentally disabled. This division makes it difficult for them to obtain more accurate assistance services. This blank space also needs to be further explored and improved.
Anan's mother believes that what is most needed for adult "star children" is social inclusion. She believes that in recent years, the society has become more and more popular with autism, but there are still many people who do not understand autism, so it is important for people around the "star child", especially neighbors and community residents, to understand the symptoms and behavior characteristics of autism. She took the example of her side, there are several families with autism in Sanshui who choose to live together in a community, and these "star children" are already in their 10s, and they have aroused the rejection of neighbors when they are active in the community together.
