On April 2, the Office of the National Medical Security Bureau and the Medical Treatment Team of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council in Response to the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic issued the Notice on Reducing the Price and Cost of Nucleic Acid Testing for the Novel Coronavirus (hereinafter referred to as the Notice), lowering the government guidance price for nucleic acid testing of the new coronavirus in public medical institutions.

The "Notice" makes it clear that all provinces should reduce the single inspection to no higher than 28 yuan per person; the mixed inspection of multiple people should be uniformly reduced to no more than 8 yuan per person. Provinces that implement separate pricing charges for testing prices and reagent prices should set capping standards according to the above levels. Provinces should complete the price adjustment work before April 8, 2022, and provinces with special circumstances may postpone the completion of the price adjustment work until April 30, 2022. In 2021, 23.4 billion yuan of medical insurance funds will be recovered

On March 31, 2022, the National Medical Insurance Bureau, the Ministry of Public Security, and the National Health Commission jointly held a teleconference on the 2022 National Special Rectification Action against Fraud and Insurance Fraud.

The meeting pointed out that the special rectification action in 2021 has achieved remarkable results. In the whole year, a total of 708,000 designated medical institutions were inspected, 411,000 were investigated and punished, and 23.4 billion yuan of medical insurance funds were recovered. The medical insurance and health departments assisted the public security organs in detecting more than 2,031 criminal cases of fraudulent medical insurance funds, arrested more than 5,002 criminal suspects, recovered 510 million yuan of the medical insurance funds involved in the cases, detected 349 cases of illegal operation of medical insurance drugs, and involved an amount of 1.5 billion yuan; and transferred 212 special problem clues to the discipline inspection and supervision departments. Regulations of Hebei Province on the Prevention and Handling of Medical Disputes
