The postoperative pathological diagnosis was a mature teratoma, which further confirmed Jin Xin's previous diagnosis. "Cells such as hair, sebaceous glands, and sweat glands can be clearly seen under the microscope, which meet the diagnostic criteria for mature teratomas."
Surgically removed tumors, compared to chopsticks in size
Jin Xin introduced that intracranial teratoma is a common type of germ cell tumor, generally in the process of embryo development, the original should differentiate into teeth, hair, bones, sebum and other cells, "run" to the brain to "take root and sprout". Because the pineal gland is located in the center of the brain tissue, not only is the location deep, but also the surrounding blood vessels and nerves are dense, the risk of surgery is extremely high.
Mature teratomas are generally benign, may be related to genetic, environmental and other factors, and generally have no obvious symptoms in the early stages. "However, parents should still be vigilant, if the child has unexplained limb shaking, headaches, dizziness, vomiting and other symptoms, they should go to the neurosurgery department in time to check the cause."
