It turns out that children only have "febrile seizures", and 99% of children will automatically release them 3-5 minutes after the seizure occurs. The right thing to do if your child faints with sudden high fever:
1. If the child has high fever and convulsions, do not move the child
When a child has a febrile seizure, it usually has a stiff twitch, whitening of the eyes, and loss of consciousness for about a few minutes. We can wipe away vomit with tissues to avoid suffocation by inhaling the trachea; don't stuff anything into your child's mouth, don't press the pulse and pinch people; remove the objects that exist around you and avoid touching the twitching child. Parents do not panic, it is recommended that one parent dial 120 in time, another parent to take care of the child, put the child on the floor, try to lie on the side, do not move the child. After the doctor arrived, he followed the doctor's instructions to seek medical treatment in time and informed the child in detail of the condition of convulsions and fever with the doctor.
2. Do not use alcohol to wipe yourself off the heat
Because children's liver and kidney function is not perfect, the skin is relatively delicate, the stratum corneum is very thin, and it is easy to absorb alcohol, resulting in allergies. Alcohol is more volatile when exposed to heat, and inhalation into the airways by children can also lead to alcoholism.
If the fever temperature is indeed relatively high, and you hope to use physical cooling to alleviate the child's uncomfortable feelings, you can choose warm water to wipe the whole body, so that the child feels comfortable and reduces anxiety and irritability.
If the child's body temperature has not decreased after wiping with warm water, consideration should be given to the use of a special antipyretic patch for children to reduce fever.
3. Seek medical treatment in time
If your child's febrile seizure lasts more than 5 minutes or does not regain consciousness after the seizure stops, be sure to seek medical attention in time. If the situation has eased, it is also necessary to take the child to the hospital as soon as possible, find the cause of the child's fever, and determine whether the situation is serious.
