In terms of profitability, Geely Automobile's profit attributable to shareholders after deducting share payments was 6.06 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4% year-on-year; profit attributable to shareholders and net profit were 4.85 billion yuan and 4.35 billion yuan, down 12.3% and 21.9% respectively year-on-year.

The decline in Geely's net profit is mainly due to the following reasons: First, Geely Automobile is increasing its investment in research and development. According to the data, Geely Automobile's total R&D investment in 2021 was 5.5 billion yuan, an increase of 48% year-on-year, and the proportion of R&D expenditure to revenue rose to 5.4%.
