An exhibition of Lingnan water towns evokes nostalgia in the painting

Recently, the "Remember Nostalgia - Lingnan Water Town Theme Painting Invitation Exhibition in the New Era" was launched at the Foshan Cultural Center, presenting more than 80 works by 69 artists. The exhibition runs until 12 April.

The exhibition brings together professional painters from several professional art units such as the National Academy of Painting of China, the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, the Guangdong Academy of Painting, the Foshan Academy of Art Creation, the Foshan Academy of Painting, and the most representative and powerful water town painting painters, and presents a high-level academic feast of Lingnan water town painting to the public with the academic support of the Guangdong Provincial Artists Association, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Artists Alliance, and the Guangdong Provincial Chinese Painting Society.

As the academic host of this exhibition, Liang Jiang, a researcher at the National Art Museum of China and director of the Institute of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, pointed out that lingnan is the water and soil of our spirit and the homesickness. As a hot land of reform and opening up, Lingnan is a new water town and new pastoral garden that is urbanized, and it is a new life that needs to be deepened from multiple angles. Retaining nostalgia is the most prominent theme of this exhibition. The exhibits include a review of the past as well as an examination of the present. The good news is that we can see the unremitting efforts of today's artists to continue to forge ahead.
