In 2017, the MPV market sales were 2.07 million units, of which Wuling Hongguang sales fell to 532,000 units, and Baojun 730 units decreased to 275,000 units, a decline of more than 25%.

Even with a sharp drop in sales, the two cars still accounted for 26.52% and 13.76% of the MPV market in 2017. In other words, MPV below 95,000 yuan accounted for 80% of sales in 2017.

Compared with the shrinkage of low-end MPV, mid-to-high-end MPV is in a state of explosion. Taking the leading Buick GL8 as an example, in 2016, the sales of the Buick GL8 were only 79,600 units, which increased sharply to 146,000 units in 2017, and by 2021, the GL8 sales were 170011 units. In 2021, Wuling Hongguang, as a representative model of low-end MPV, has only 210,000 vehicles sold.

From the perspective of price range, in 2021, the share of MPV above 200,000 yuan in the MPV market has reached 41.5%, which is the largest market segment of MPV. The average sales price of MPV reached 175,000 yuan, and the trend of high-end MPV has been very obvious.

In fact, the market potential of MPV in China is still very large, the huge population base, the rise of the concept of large family travel, the trend of increasing purchases... Compared with foreign auto markets, such as Europe, the MPV market share is 30%, Japan is 25%, and South Korea is also 20%, compared with the current Chinese MPV market share of only 7%.

"Electric MPV has a lot of characteristics, the first is quiet, not as loud as the engine. In addition, the business attributes of fuel MPV are more obvious, and electric MPV is more reflected in home performance. Taking the screen in the car as an example, usually the fuel MPV is mainly driven by the driver, the leader sits in the back seat, and the demand for the screen is not large; the electric MPV space of the private car is very large, and there can be many infotainment systems, which provides a large space for the design and layout of the large screen. ”
