In terms of power, ID.Buzz based on Volkswagen's MEB electric drive module platform, equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack, a 150 kW electric motor with a driving power supply to drive the rear axle, and the power layout is the same as the rear-drive form of the Volkswagen T1. ID.Buzz and ID.Buzz Cargo models have exactly the same body dimensions, 4712 mm long, 1938 mm wide and 1985 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2988 mm, and the overall dimensions are about the same as volkswagen's T6 models.

ID.Buzz the car also inherits the classic layout of the T1, so that the use of space is optimal. On the standard 5-seater model, each passenger has enough space while also placing 1121 litres of luggage, folding the second row of seats, and the luggage capacity will be increased to 2205 litres. If the second row of seats is removed, the luggage space will reach 3900 litres, enabling the lateral loading of two standard European LTL pallets.

Although the shape design of the ID.Buzz retains the genes of the Volkswagen T1, the modern detail shape still allows the drag coefficient to reach the level of 0.285, which not only reduces energy consumption, but also increases the cruising range. The ID.Buzz series will be produced at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' plant in Hanover and is scheduled to begin bookings in May and delivery this fall. Volkswagen also plans to set off another Microbus boom in North America with the ID.Buzz series.
