On March 11, "Beauty in the New Era - Special Exhibition of Fine Works from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China (Phase II)" opened in Beijing. The exhibition is co-sponsored by The Central Radio and Television Station and the National Art Museum of China, and co-organized by the Central News Documentary Film Studio (Group).
Hu Heping, deputy director of the Central Propaganda Department and minister of culture and tourism, and Shen Haixiong, deputy director of the Central Propaganda Department, director and editor-in-chief of the Central Radio and Television Station, attended the opening ceremony and unveiled the exhibition.
Xue Jijun, a member of the editorial board of the Central Radio and Television Corporation, said in his speech that in the strong atmosphere of welcoming the 20th National Congress of the Party, the General Radio and Television Station and the National Art Museum of China jointly hosted this special exhibition of fine products, and transferred many precious archives of images recording the creative experience of the older generation of art masters from the Central News Documentary Film Studio, making the exhibition more historically deep and thick, which can be called an innovative integration of video art and fine art exhibition. At present, the general station is pursuing the goal of "full screen quality", striving to promote the innovation of high-quality programs in the whole chain, all-round and all fields, and carefully creating a number of "big dramas" and "masterpieces" that welcome the 20th National Congress and praise the new era, showing the Chinese strength of the new era to the world and showing the spirit of the Chinese in the new era.
Jin Shangyi, honorary chairman of the China Artists Association and professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, pointed out that this exhibition not only contains the fine works of previous national art exhibitions collected by the National Art Museum of China, but also the newly created works in recent years, representing the important collection of the National Art Museum of China. It is hoped that the National Art Museum of China can better popularize aesthetic education through fine art exhibitions and improve the aesthetic literacy of the whole nation.
Wu Weishan, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of the National Art Museum of China, presided over the unveiling event and delivered a speech. He said that "beauty in the new era" actually means "classic in the new era". These Chinese art classics shine with thought and wisdom, reflect the national character and the connotation of the times, which are not only a reflection of the present and contemporary times, but also overflow with the spiritual charm of enduring renewal and advancing with the times with their transcendence. This special exhibition highlights the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, vigorously carries forward the spirit of the new era, vividly tells the Chinese story to the world, and makes the world more aware of Chinese art and Chinese spirit.

The exhibition selects nearly 300 works from the collection of the National Art Museum of China, which are divided into two chapters: "Expressing the New Era with Beauty" and "Presenting the New Era with Beauty".
The first chapter exhibits the outstanding works on ecological civilization, poverty alleviation, fight against the epidemic, education, science and technology, sports and other contents newly created since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China; the second chapter exhibits the works of modern and modern masters such as Qi Baishi, Huang Binhong, Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Liu Haisu, Pan Tianshou, Fu Baoshi, Li Keyan and so on.
Responsible persons of relevant departments such as the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Central Radio and Television Corporation, the National Art Museum of China, the Central Academy of Fine Arts and other relevant departments and representatives of artists attended the event.
The exhibition will be on view until March 30.
