Three chongqing-based original plays, including "Absolute Test", were funded by the National Arts Fund

Recently, the official platform of the National Arts Fund Management Center announced the list of 2022 annual funding projects of the National Arts Fund (general project), and the upstream news reporter noted that there were three plays in Chongqing that were shortlisted, the original dance drama "Absolute Test" of the Chongqing Song and Dance Troupe was selected as a large-scale stage drama and work creation funding project, the small opera "Battle Destiny" of Chongqing Performing Arts Group and the one-act play "Eating Dumplings in the New Year" of the Chongqing Municipal Mass Art Museum were selected as small drama (festival) and work creation projects.

The National Arts Fund was established at the end of 2013 with the approval of the State Council, funded by the central government, and adopted the model of a public welfare fund established by the state, led by the government, reviewed by experts and oriented to the society.

In 2022, 10,978 projects funded by the National Arts Fund (general projects) were accepted and declared, and 628 projects were approved, including 101 large-scale stage plays and works creation projects.

In addition to 1 large-scale stage play and work creation project, 2 small drama (festival) items and work creation projects in Chongqing area, the projects and individuals of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Chongqing Culture and Art Vocational College, Chongqing Municipal Institute of Culture and Tourism and other units have been shortlisted for art creation projects, communication and exchange promotion projects, artistic talent training projects, and young artistic creation talent projects.

Previously, the Chongqing Song and Dance Troupe had selected the dance drama "Du Fu", the cross-border fusion stage drama "Small Noodles" and the group dance "Li Ren Xing" to be selected as funded projects by the National Arts Fund.

In recent years, the Chongqing Song and Dance Troupe has become famous in the industry with the National Arts Fund "Grand Slam" funding project, the Chinese dance "Lotus Award" award-winning dance drama "Du Fu", and the phenomenon-level dance IP "Li Ren Xing". At the end of 2019, the Chongqing Song and Dance Troupe discussed with industry experts to determine the character prototype of the legendary female hero Zhang Luping of Hongyan, started the creation of large-scale dance drama scripts, and in March 2020, set up a domestic creative team with Ding Wei, the former head of the Central National Song and Dance Troupe and a national first-class director, as the core.

In terms of form of expression, "Absolute Test" combines modern, ethnic, street dance, national standard and other dance art forms, and innovatively integrates Elements of Sichuan opera and drama, and also integrates Chongqing's natural landscapes, customs and folk customs in stage design.

Prior to this, the dance drama "Absolute Test" has been selected as a recommended play for Chongqing Municipality's celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the outstanding stage repertoire exhibition and performance tour of party history study and education, and the tv exhibition of outstanding literary and artistic works in Chongqing. The "Hotpot Sonata", adapted from the dance segment of the play, also appeared on CCTV's Spring Festival Gala in the Year of the Tiger, showing the literary and artistic style of shancheng and the image of Chongqing city. "Absolute Test" will be staged at the Chongqing Grand Theatre from March 16 to 30.
