Finally, all the new versions of the car for 2022 were revealed, with the release of Alfa Romeo's new car, the C42 for the 2022 season.
10 teams conducted the first round of pre-season testing of the season in Barcelona on 23-25 February, but one team wants to keep their new car livery mysterious for longer. The team was Alpha Romeo, who tested it in camouflage over the course of three days. It was a troublesome three days for Alfa Romeo, who was particularly struggling to get track time due to ongoing reliability issues. Bottas ran just 54 laps in those three days, setting a record for any driver on the track.
Alfa Romeo still has a lot of work to do before the official pre-season testing starts in Bahrain on March 10, but now we're finally seeing the true face of their new car, which will add shine to bahrain's international circuit.
The Alfa Romeo C42 retains a dark red and white color scheme, with black front wings. And also...... Look at those red and white wheels, which look great on the C42! Its side boxes are very open compared to other models of the 2022 season. Time will tell if this is the right design.
It's no surprise to see the innovations in C42, considering that Alfa Romeo put all his energy into these new rules. Compared to models such as the Aston Martin and Ferrari, the cooling inlets on the sides are more conspicuous and the grooves are wider.
The C42 is indeed a compact and streamlined car, but now they want it to deliver stronger lap times and greater reliability.
Official pre-season testing will take place between March 10 and 12, after which bahraini international circuits will host the opening match for the 2022 season on March 20.
