Russell made his debut in the morning and Hamilton grabbed the top spot in the lap table at the end of the afternoon, running faster than Red Bull of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen behind, albeit with softer tyres. Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel made it into the top five.

Several team-mates are both in the top five, with two Ferrari drivers ahead of two Williams drivers and McLaren's Daniel Ricciardo and Rando Norris in tenth and eleventh places.

There were plenty of red flags that morning, five times to be precise, and in Friday's test, only 16 of the 20 drivers made it onto the track.

As for the Alpine Alpine team, hydraulic problems caused a small fire in the rear of their car, which caused their drivers to have to watch from the sidelines after 12 laps.

Aston Martin Vettel's car also suffered an oil spill in the morning, which prevented Lance Stoll from driving on the track in the afternoon.

Alfa Romeo's Zhou Guanyu entered the gravel buffer zone in the morning, while his teammate Valtely Bottas ran only 10 laps in the afternoon.

Red Bull Jr., who was led by Pierre Gasley, ran 40 laps in the morning and was stranded in the garage throughout the afternoon.

On the final day of testing, track law enforcement officers sent water trucks to wet the ground, and Pirelli and the team wanted key data on half-rain and full-rain tires.

For the first time, the riders were able to feel the track on the treaded tires, and the initial lap times were 20 seconds slower compared to the dry conditions.

Alexander Alpen of Hamilton and Williams ended up with the most laps, reaching 94 laps.

Towards the end of the final day of testing, Hamilton switched to C5 tyres and Perez to C4 tyres, and the two of them began brushing laps.

The seven-time world champion then topped the lap chart with a time of 1:19.138, the fastest lap in the three-day test, while the Mexican driver was third in 1:19.556.

The official pre-season testing will take place in Bahrain from 10 to 12 March.
